I wonder if we could get Rob Kuntz to share this with us. Or maybe Necromancer Games could be persuaded to host it on their website? Are the Kron Hills a Mystara name? I'm guessing no, but where would this likely be set? Something tells me that Norwold would be a likely location, although Karameikos might also be a possibility. I remember the module War Rafts of Kron, but I cant rememeber where the Kron name comes from in that module. The name Hold of Nar also provides some ideas. Could it be connected with Nob Nar, the ancient Hin Hero? Have the ancient Halfin settlements of Nob Nar's clan been taken over by evil monsters? Most likely, the module was written without much knowledge of Mystara or even that it would be set o that world, but still, its fun to speculate... Should you need more info, feel free to ask me in private mail.>> i knew about Planewalker.com and found Mimir.com during a web search. Neither fully answered my questions. Mimir.com is undergoing a facelift and only has parts of its content available so I might check back there later. i would prefer to use a source that has an interest in Mystara or use a source that MMLers use and/or like. The reason for this is that Mystara has its own particular atmosphere and (oftentimes) differing game styles. I know that bringing aspects of PS into Mystara is going to be difficult and possibly controversial. I'll probably take you up on your offer. I'll send you a mail with what I need and what I need it for. Likewise, there will be some adventure background info for perusal. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 5 Nov 2001 10:09:50 -0800 From: Mike Harvey Subject: Re: Rob Kuntz almost got an entry into the D&D/Mystara world Havard wrote: > Are the Kron Hills a Mystara name? Being followers of a Lawful philosophy, the Ylari could naturally believe that the coherence of thought of their Immortal Guardians is reflected by the complex, but strictly regulated movements of the heavenly bodies. Their tradition should be fairly different from that of more chaotic cultures (which could simply see the night sky as a divination tool not different from the leaves in a tea cup or any other chaotic process). > 4. They are indeed. The Kron Hills are a major source of adventuring. The Temple of Elemental Evil series occurs there. The Kron hills are home to one of the largest gnome enclaves in all of Greyhawk too. And a last bit of Greyhawk trivia about the Kron Hills, they were part of Vecna's empire before he became a god/demi-god. The PC1 was the only one of the series I > bought, as the next one didn't suit my taste. PC4 is excellent, one of the best D&D products ever made. I was lucky enough to find it an evening of 1994, in November if I recall correctly, in a shop that is now closing and from which I began to buy stuff in English. I was 14 at the time, and I had been to the city with my father to buy a pair of walking boots, and 150 meters from the place we went I knew there was this shop. So I asked my father if I could go there while he was buying a pair of shoes for himself...I remember that I run the 150 meters back to the shoe-shop when I saw PC4 (I have always been fond of werecreatures) and asked him for the money to buy it...if he was so kind to lend me it. He was. Well, these memories probably don't interest anyone, but it was a cool moment. Obviously this doesn't help you to use info from the book. > Again I must apologise for letting "Twin Campaigns" specific ideas slip > into the campaign scheme. In my campaign there is an Alexander Penhaligon, a member of the Thyatian branch of the family, cleric of Tarastia, that I used also in "A short reference to Thyatian litterature" (by me and James Ruhland). I will write the npc for the list one day or another.
