Maybe Thanatos love his love during the war with the Outer Beings and killed the Goddess in an attempt to turn back time...while Ixion want to mantain the status quo... i think i will try to merge my story with yours : - ) > I still have to figure out the role of the Shadow Dragons, as well. IMC Dragons were defeated in the past and have been at peace with immortals since, but they are still waiting for the right time to fight again... I was intrigued by the idea of the Shadow Dragons as those among dragons who never accept the truce with the Immortals... So Synn is interested in the radiance because she want to became a Non-Path immortal (or maybe she is already the Immortal Idris... : - ) and use the radiance against immortals... bye Francesco ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Dec 2001 12:27:40 +0000 From: Gordon McCormick Subject: Re: Artifacts for my campaign On Sat, Dec 22, 2001 at 03:12:19AM -0200, Andre Martins wrote: > > > Ancient Secrets of Mystara article in the last volume of the Tome of > > > Mystara http://www.geocities.com/mystaratome/ > > Anyway, any comment you might have on the article will be very welcome. Just read the article there - very impressive, I really like those ideas for the prehistory of Mystara. It nicely fits in with the struggles on Mystara and adds a lot to the immortals, giving the heirarchs some very good motivations for what they do. Need to steal the bits that I can for my own campaign :) gordon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Dec 2001 14:39:15 +0100 From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Havard=20Faanes?= Subject: Re: One Quick question According to my writeup, the Seer is pretty powerful and should be capable of protecting the Eye himself. But this rises an interesting question. How was it possible to steal it in the first place? And why couldnt the Seer just go and take it back himself? Perhaps, the powers of the Seer are linked to the Eye. Somehow he was tricked to part with it, and that left him powerless. IMC he travelled widely searching for the Eye for years before it was returned to him by my PCs. Although, other things could be done with the Eye, the best solution IMO is to give it to the Seer as he is really the only one who is able to use it for good to its full potential. PLOT IDEA: I almost used this IMC. If one of your players has mage character IYC, maybe the Seer is looking for someone to eventually replace him. The Character would have to undergo serious training before the Seer dies or decides to leave for Faerie. Actually the ESD of Gaz 13 is not avalible, what is avalible is the a text adapted from Gaz 13. (bassically the same, and is official) The ESD will be a scaned version with the pic's not just the text. The 3E site mentions that this was avalible too. Good job to all those involved, I'm still debating about useing 3E... but we'll see. Chris. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Altough I have some different views on the Elder Immortals than you do, you made me see clearly one very important point I hadn't thought deeply about yet. Basically, the influence of the growing number of newer Immortals in the politics in Pandius. As the Elder Immortals are hiding, IMC, information from the younger ones, they will have a specially hard time trying to implement stricter politics, allowing their enemies some space to work and plot. That could be quite useful and important on the decisions for the future. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Dec 2001 22:25:56 -0800 From: "Jenni A. M. So Synn is interested in the radiance > because she want to became a Non-Path immortal (or maybe she is already the > Immortal Idris... : - ) and use the radiance against immortals... bye During WotI, IMC, the Great One is issuing a order for the dragons not get involved. He knows the war is actually about the Elder fears of a comunity of non-Path Immortals, as he was instrumental in negotiating a truce between the dragons and the Hierarchs. He will abide to the terms of that treaty for now, waiting to see where this will lead this time. As things develop, he might decide it to be wise to plot with one side or the other. Figuring the role dragons would play on it, I suppose, should start by figuring what happened when they battled the Immortals and which factions there were at that time. That could lead to your idea of Shadow Dragons as a group which didn't accept the truce. Perhaps they decided to quit the Prime at the time, as they'd be destroyed otherwise and are now slowly coming back That could also shed some light on the final of the Dragonlord series, if you use it IYC. Is there some timeline or genealogy of the dragons somewhere? One detailing possible conections between them and the Carnifex? I have to check it out. But only next year now. And, of course, happy seasons for all of you!
