I know that some people have written articles for the Vaults to "explain" the hot temperature in Ylaruam, but did this "Fire Seed" idea appear in some published material? At least the Ylaruam Gaz doesn't seem to give any explanation to the climate, or I read it carelessly all these years. (Adventure > Potential here!) Also, maybe some "sand to earth" or > "fertilize ground" spells can be developed to complete > the restoration of Ylaruam. Ofcourse, if the use the > Dune analogy in Ylaruam as is indicated in that gaz, > this will lead to a deterioration of the Ylari culture > turning proud desert warriors into lazy and corrupt > city dwellers with "Marketplace Souls"... Cool, I've been thinking about exactly the same thing! If the new Al-Kalim, or whoever it is that gets the project going, is anything like Muad-Dib, then he/she might have the idea of creating a safe haven where future generations could be trained in the Way. The trouble here is that Dune was a planet, with enough room for something like this, and the Alasiyan basin is actually quite small, something between 360-400 miles eas-west. Any desert haven would be laughably small (actually the desert was a tad too small for many of the suggested adventures to start with).
