I agree with the previous mail - read it through very very carefully many times before even thinking of playing it out. IMC it also took months to complete the campaign. Well, actually more like a year, since we played it out completely, every section including the Escape from the Valley suggestion at the end, and the Wrath of Iron Ring suggestion. Those were the best times in our campaign, and we all still remember them fondly. There are some very good ideas in the module about how you can give the PCs some knowledge about the various goblin tribes, and how you can lead them to the blighted woods of the Wolfskull tribe. They are a good basis for the campaign, but I suggest you write a few alternative "flow maps" that can lead the party through the encounters. Any word on the MA Events? Herve? Geoff? GAB ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jun 2002 05:35:19 EDT From: Alex Benson Subject: Re: The NWN Mystara Thanks for the heads up on this release. I did not know there was a downloadable version available. I have played around with various level builders for several games (Dungeon Siege, Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption, Deus Ex, Mechwarrior 4, and Tomb Raider). I'll give the NWN Toolset a look over. This shows great promise for the Mystaran Experience. Imagine walking the decks of the Torpin or Princess Ark, going to battle stations at some approaching threat. Imagine looking over the battlements of Thyatis City. Imagine kicking back for an ale at the Black Heart Lily. And then there are the existing adventure modules and the possibilities of building levels based upon them (Castle Amber). ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jun 2002 09:32:00 -0500 From: John Polacek Subject: Re: The NWN Mystara Speaking of Castle Amber, I made some screenshots of some areas in Stephen's Tomb at the end of X2 that I built using the NWN toolset. And I found it for $6.00. I almost shouted when I saw it in the bin. That's why I had to be sure I had all the parts. So thanks everyone for the confirmations and the recommendation. BTW, if anyone here wants it but doesn't have it, I noticed that WotC is selling it as an ESD for $4.99. I downloaded the ToolSet and tinkered with it some. It looks to be pretty good, especially for a beta program. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jun 2002 12:57:21 -0700 From: John Calvin Subject: Re: The NWN Mystara >> Speaking of Castle Amber, I made some screenshots of some areas in Stephen's Tomb at the end of X2 that I built using the NWN toolset. One of the first modules I plan on creating (and running) will feature some Thyatian soldiers, so I wanted to start prototyping all of the different sets of Thyatian armor. Next I plan to work on Traldar/Boldavian clothing, and then maybe some Kara Knights. [Here is a general list question: Do Kara. Soldiers have a uniform dress code, or would it deppend greatly upon the Noble who employs them? I figure that some of the Thyatian nobles would tend to keep a more Thyatian style. What type of armor would the Traldar nobles outfit their troops with?] If anyone is interested I could upload some screenshots, or even the NWN module for others to check out and play with. Let me know. What I would like to know is can you export the stuff to other 3d formats cause the in game render engine (as with most games) leaves a lot to be desired but I could use it to rough out areas. I'm not in the mood to D/L the couple hundred megs just to find out. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
