What happens to your clothes and items when you polymorph?  Do they rip and

Does your ring of protection still function when you polymorph into a hydra?
(AC doesn't change)

Pretty straightforward.
According to the rules, when u polymorph all your equipment carried is absorbed into your new form, and you are unable to use it, or to benefit from its magical powers.
So ur ring +3 or scarab of protection don't work anymore and u can't use your sword +2 in the scabbard or the potion of flight in your backpack, until u get back to your normal form, or unless you are keeping the item in your hand at the moment of the transition and the new form has a hand that can use it ;)
Also, if you polymorph into another humanoid dressed similarly, you should be able to retain the use of your items, normally.

------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Jul 2002 08:22:26 -0700 From: Lyndon Wizards email lists Subject: FREE (almost) AD&D Mystara Boxed Games for Adoption Free to a good home where they will be cared for and appreciated: 4 copies of Glantri Kingdom of Magic 1 of Karameikos Kingdom of Adventure 1 of Red Steel These are the AD&D2 boxes, with CDs -- unopened, still shrink-wrapped. I got them a couple years ago then got distracted by a variety of things including thyroid cancer (SUCCESSFUL treatment, I appreciate my experience with early 21st century medicine -- and would advise you all out there to make sure a competent doctor lays hands on your throat for at least 30 seconds a year. Routine blood tests don't reliably check this, and I had a 7 centimeter -- 2 1/2 inch -- tumor in my throat when a new doctor said "What's that in your throat!" Surgically dealing with a 1 or 2 centimeter tumor is a LOT easier ...), changing jobs a couple times, and now I'm doing very motivated spring cleaning to clear a place for a younger brother to crash while job hunting. He won't be crashing in the closet, but anything I can move out of the closet, but anything I move out of there will allow me to in turn clear more floor space ... When these games were new the inclusion of the CD -- besides driving up the cost -- encouraged me to NOT buy them as I didn't have a CD player. And I am more visual than audio oriented anyway -- which is why I'm buying paper rules and things with map and not "books on tape" recordings. However there is enough nifty stuff that I think that if I had bought them new way back when I could have gotten my money's worth in enjoyment. The illustrations are gorgeous and often done "in character." There is a pile of writing, the quality of which has been reviewed extensively on the list. I actually got these when they were remaindered at Kay-Bee Toys for $4.99 to $6.99 To avoid going crazy over math, I will mail any of these to you for $5 (including postage!) if in the U.S. If not, please email me privately and we can look up best costs to other countries and whether to send checks or PayPal. -- I am selling them at a loss to get the extra cubic foot or so of space back, rather than pay storage to horde them on the thought that some year I might be a shrewder game broker. Also I like the idea of them going promptly (at last) someplace where they will be enjoyed. Priority in response goes to those who email privately rather than clutter the list. THIS email will get my attention fastest: Lyndon@dragonriddle.com I hope to FINALLY get back into Mystaran creative activity, though what I'm actually most interested in is mid 900's lower power pre War of Gods stuff, but this month and next month are going to be substantially preoccupied in reformatting and defragmenting my room's storage to consolidate free space and re-re-re- arranging stuff to fit in another person.
