I honestly don't think the Hollow World is super-relevant to most players. If you're reading for your own interest, yeah, sure, but otherwise? I'd say that Karameikos and Glantri are your bedrock and defining works, with the GAZ being preferred by the old timers, but even the boxed sets being good for someone new to the setting. After that, the earliest PWA you can get your hands on. (In my perversity, I'd say the boxed sets and Joshuan's Almanac, because despite their few inaccuracies, they're stripped down to the essentials for the most part -- Joshuan's is useless for Ierendi, for instance.)
