There are others nations who could threaten the scro. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Feb 2002 11:45:32 EST From: Alex Benson Subject: Re: Alex's Almanac Comments (was Torpin) My appologies, in advance, to the rest of the MML for this. But when pushed, I push back. He took a simple post and twisted out of context to fit some paranoid dillusions he holds. And just who sent him the mail, setting its reception as hostile to him, and instigating this mess? Vendetta? I am not the one that took umbrage to a whopping five (5) sentences to create their long winded diatribe of a rant bringing back up matters from years ago. I am not the one that quit the MML for all this time, only to resurface for a single text attack against another poster. I am not the one that targeted anyone specific in my post. I take that back. I did mention you by name in another post, but that was complimentary. I guess your underling failed to point that one out. So excuse me if I take a moment to laugh my friggin head off. If I had a vendetta against you, I would have mentioned you specifically. Afterall, you are no longer on the MML and therefore would not be around to defend yourself. Likewise, I would not have quit the MA. The truth be told, I could give a rat's ass about you or your precious Thyatis. For the four hundreth and last time, Operation Hydra was created years ago back when the MML was on ionline.com and TSR was on AOL. You were not even a member of the MML then. Hydra was never intended to be incorporated into the MA. I was not even remotely affiliated with the MA then. You whine about the Nace gains in Hydra but never whine about the Thyatian gains. But I caught the devil from you when I was critical of how Thyatis got Minrothad in the MA. Nace gains were included to answer criticsm that Thyatis was getting too much without international objections. Hydra is a moot point as it was never completed. Pearl Islands and Ochalea...huh? Where did you get the idea that I wanted them in Nace? Why would I extend Nace's territorial beyond the IoD? That contradicts my heavily stated stance in consolidating Nace territories and establishing Sphere's of Influence. Not to mention Nace becoming an isolationist region. Emerond joining Nace? Where in the name of Brittany Spears did that come from? The Emerond are on Davania. My stance on Davania has been steady; let it develop with as little influence from Alphatia and Brun interests as possible. The reason for this is to prevent the Alpher vs. Thy mentality from carrying over to Davania and to let DV develop its own setting. For that, as well as the Emerond's own isolated nature, I opposed them developing relations with Thyatis. This was especially so while Thyatis was embroiled in its civil war and the war against the Twaeler. The Randel...those refugees were added for a variety of reasons. 1) they added a traditionalist sect to Nace to cause internal dissent between the more liberal reformists you often complained about (domestic rifts). 2) they were the means to introduce you and Thyatis with several thousand POWs for repatriation as future colonists to the Hinterlands or Haittias. The Randel refugees and the creation of the Kingdom of Veroth were by no means smooth or beneficial to liberal Nace. And the Veroth troops are getting old and the kingdom has no economy. Who benefited from Veroth's creation? Economics...I seem to recall initiating cutting economic aid to devastated Nace regions. This was where the funding came from. Likewise, funds became a limiting factor to there being only one Torpin, a small submersible fleet (in the early planning stages and no numbers given so you cannot say there are too many), military demobilization/reorganization, and territorial consolidation and assessment. I have no idea about airpower. Offhand I can't recall any new skyships created by Nace by yours truly. But then again, you often blame me for stuff that I had no hand in. And what about those suits of leather +1 you were slapping on the Alpher troops in your Armies Section? No worries about cost there. But I forgot, leather +1 has a lower AC than the less expensive chainmail and platemail I suggested. Thyatis was embroiled in a civil war. The populace was partitioned along revolutionary, neutrals, and loyalists lines. Taxation and economic flow was hindered as war waged on Thyatian soil under the walls of the capital itself. What funds were available had to be utilized to support Eusebius's forces, defend the borders, and expand at the same time. That's a heavy burden for an economy still struggling to recover from Wrath. Colonization...I was refering to the Thyatian colony you proposed in the Alatian Islands (Aegos or Gaity I cannot recall). This was to be Thyatis's vault point for expanding its trade and creating a trade empire to rival Darokin and Minrothad. Forgot that one didn't you? IoD is an established border region. I have always supported that. If anything was to be changed, I proposed breaking Dunadale up to allow the alphatian enclave of Deirdren independence from the Thyatian majority in Dunandale. It was my original understanding that that was to be addressed in the Heldun Treaty...but that facet was not implemented in the final draft. I said nothing of it at the time and am not complaining about it now. Well, I am probably overlooking a few points that need to be countered. However, I have better things to do than feed some child's personal quest to be a horse's ass. It's probably a moot point he unsubscribed right after sending that mail. Of course his unnamed underling is sure to be forwarding this to him as soon as it hits. I expect the following days will see me recieve one or two private mails that escalate the "debate". That will be followed by your MML response to this mail. By then, I will be pretty ticked off from the private mails and respond to the MML in a less than gentlemanly fashion, thus making me look like the heavy and you as the victim. Forget about the private mails...your email addy is blocked. Yeah...your right in there with the porn, viagra, mortage refinancing, and online casino spam. I am not playing this game...so assemble your underling horde and grumble amongst yourselves. ------------------------------ End of MYSTARA-L Digest - 22 Feb 2002 to 23 Feb 2002 (#2002-54) ***************************************************************
