Just a shame that it is so generic. Blackmoor has many unique sites and personalities. The pic of who I assume to have been Toska Rusa, which was on the Zeitgeist site months ago, while not to this standard, might have been a better start point. Every fantasy setting has a pretty picture on it. Blackmoor needs something to grab those who don't know about it. You guys let me worry about bringing in new people to Blackmoor. :) I know that Elmore's work puts butts in seats. Getting the word out is my job. At this point I am convinced that the guts of the book are sound. While I say that, I really am trying to be as humble as possible. I am not the typical game designer in that regard. I just try to do my best and I have been impressed with the work of my team mates. I should also take this time to remind you guys that we are taking license with Blackmoor and with Dave's blessing as well as his sweat and handiwork. We basically ripped it out of the group from it's TSR location and put it into it's own world. Some races are completely missing and are replaced with others. The map is mostly the same and so are the towns and their inhabitants, but he had to expand the world and put flesh to the bones to make this book. We couldn't just reprint the DA modules. We do plan to revisit the original modules and may reprint those as well as the missing DA5, which we have in hand. I know you guys love history and it should be noted that this will be a new and official book on Blackmoor's history...at least going forward. :) I really hope that you can endorse our efforts once you see them. This little tidbit almost slipped by me. DA5 was City of Blackmoor as I recall, but was allegedly cancelled before reaching a final draft. The only mention was a preview entry in Dragon, many years ago. Does this mean we were misinformed? Fans, myself included, will bite your arm off to get at this one! (By "vaporware" I mean products with definite names and maybe even the beginnings of development, not ideas thrown around by TSR/WOTC's marketing department.) To the best of my knowledge, the following products never saw the light of day: 1. DA5 2. Heldann Freeholds/Heldannic Knights Gaz 3. Sind Gaz 4. Wendar Gaz 5. Iron Ring AD&D adventure 6. Argos AD&D adventure Am I missing anything? Am I wrong about any of these? Thanks, Dan __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. It was cancelled but the majority of the materials were finished. We may yet revisit this in 2nd edition and or 3e feel. :) Please don't bite my arm off. I will do what I can to get word of it your way soon. :) Dustin -----Original Message----- From: Mystara RPG Discussion [mailto:MYSTARA-L@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM] On Behalf Of hammer_of_ulric Sent: Wednesday, April 23, 2003 9:22 AM To: MYSTARA-L@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM Subject: Re: [MYSTARA] Blackmoor Cover Art On Wed, 23 Apr 2003 09:19:05 -0400, Dustin Clingman wrote: > We do plan to revisit the original modules and may reprint those as > well as the missing DA5, which we have in hand.
