Jacob Skytte scythe@wanadoo.dk *** Oda Elsasdottir Chaotic 2nd level Fighter (Str 13, Int 13, Wis 10, Dex 11, Con 14, Cha = 12, AC 4, hp 13) Personality Traits: Modest/Proud 5/15, Generous/Greedy 6/14, = Honest/Deceitful 5/15 18 years old, Blond hair, Pale blue eyes "It killed all of my pitiful innocence and purity, but now I am my own = woman, and no man rules over me!" As the older daughter of Elsa the Seal and Jarl Geirstein Thorgelson of = Noslosford, Oda was expected to become an asset for her father to give = away in a political marriage. Geirstein tried his best to shape her into = a perfect bride, but Oda would not stand for it. A fire burns in Oda, = pride and ambition fueling it. Oda saw her older brothers, saw their = freedom, the way that they could get what they wanted, that they could = defeat those who would stand in their way, and she desired that freedom. In secret Oda started wielding weapons, learning their use. She liked = the power of weapons, the feeling of being deadly, able to strike down = the ones she wished. When she were eventually discovered, her father was = furious. But in spite of harsh words and painful punishments, Oda kept = finding ways to learn more of weapon use. Eventually her father saw the = futility of trying to stop her and focused on making sure that his other = daughter wouldn't walk that same path. Oda was allowed formal training = and she greedily partook in it, honing her skills and strength. Oda has not forgotten the corporal punishments she faced at the hands of = her father, and she has developed a hatred for all males, based on that. = At the same time she despises weak females, who can't stand up to males. = This has made Oda a lonely and bitter woman, she has no friends and = doesn't care much for any of her family. When finally the day came that Geirstein suggested she marry Jarl Ragnar = Solmundson of Vithesford, she was at first furious. She would not yield = to any man, she knew that for sure. But when she met him and saw what an = old goat he was, she formulated a plan. Ragnar would be a means to an = end. She came to realize that what she wanted above all else was to = rule, to be jarl of her own domain. She would marry Ragnar and take over = his domain, either by bending him to her will or by getting rid of him = once she felt that she was firmly in control. Though she loathed the = thought of yielding her body to him, she would never yield her mind, and = she just had to accept that there were sacrifices to be made to get what = she wanted. Oda acted the sweet young maiden for Ragnar's benefit and was betrothed = and soon married to him, just in time to get away from the war that was = brewing between her brother Bue and the rest of her family. When what = remained of her family sought her out at the end of the war, she agreed = to help her brother Lot escape in return for his later service to her, = though she gave up the rest of her family to King Hord without a second = thought. She was ecstatic at proving herself to be Lot's better (at = least in her mind), now if only she could find a way to break Bue as = well... In combat Oda wields a normal sword of exceptional quality (+2 to hit, = +1 to damage) and prefers to wear chain mail and a shield, though she = has her eyes set on obtaining a magical plate mail for the added = protection. Ragnar Solmundson Neutral 13th level Fighter (Str 15, Int 10, Wis 7, Dex 12, Con 12, Cha = 14, AC 5 or 0, hp 50) Personality Traits: Reverent/Godless 13/7, Forgiving/Vengeful 14/6, = Honest/Deceitful 13/7, Trusting/Suspicious 16/4 52 years old, White hair, Very pale blue eyes "You cannot simply invoke the king's name and expect me to yield." In his youth Ragnar was a mighty warrior and pirate, who led several = raids to all manner of far and foreign countries. Now he has grown old = and weary. He is, however, obsessed with the idea that he might somehow, = some way regain the vigour of his lost youth. He believes (perhaps = rightly so) that the Modrigswerg dwarves can create some wonderful = artifact that will do just that. He therefore has contacted the Dark = Dwarves, and they have agreed to give it their best shot.for a price of = course. Invigorated with these prospects Ragnar has once again taken to = raiding those far and foreign countries to come up with some prize that = the Dark Dwarves covet. So far he has been largely unsuccessful, but has = managed to trade for some lesser Modrigswerg artifacts. Ragnar has never had any children, or he might have been content with = his accomplishments, but now that he has married the young Oda = Elsasdottir, he once again dreams of siring a son, who can carry on his = line and name. Already he has begun falling under the influence of Oda, = who seems so sweet and pure, but will actually only use him to get what = she wants, before casting this once mighty warrior away. In battle Ragnar wears a chain mail+5 called Blood Mail, fashioned from = a mystical blood red metal, and wields a wicked looking dark halberd+3; = +6 vs. weapon-using creatures called "Halshugger" (Beheader). Both of = these artifacts are cursed, but Ragnar is aware of the nature of the = curses (that he must drench the chain mail in blood or it will lose its = bonuses, and that he must kill a creature with Halshugger once a week). ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Jan 2003 22:47:57 +0100 From: Kid H Subject: Wrath of the Immortal I'm going to make a big campaign with my high level players about the Master of Sind. WotI isn't a module, it's actually in the revised Immortal's boxed set. It's not an adventure that can be easily summarized though, unfortunately. You are very much right Herv=E9. :) I had the intention of describing the history of Idris and unveiling it for= =20 the Almanac's readers, but I have the feeling it would simply spoil the=20 nature of mystery surrounding it. So I won't go into details with her=20 background and true nature, but in case anybody wants to know, you simply=20 have to take a look at the graffitis and frescoes inside the Nameless=20 Tower... supposed you pass the wards and guards put there, that's it.. ;) I've decided to leave Idris a mystery. It can be what u want, altho I had a= =20 very precise idea about her: I wanted to make her the Mystaran version of=20 Lilith... but let's leave it for now.. She can be Hel, or Synn, or Nyx, or Pearl, or any other immortal u want...= =20 except well, Synn ain't an immortal to grant powers to her followers, but=20 ok, i'm sure u can fix it ;) As for last thing: Night Dragons are not exactly followers of Idris...=20 only. They are the souls of evil dragons corrupted and respawned by the=20 Entropic lords to suit their desires and do their biddings. SO all of the=20 night dragons are outer planar entities sent throughout the planes to serve= =20 their Entropic lords' wishes. Synn was Thanatos's ally and lackey IIRC, and= =20 maybe she's still working for White Bones ;) DM Senior Editor of the Mystaran Almanac Lt. Cmdr. of U.S.S.
