The closest thing you'd find to a canon answer is: Asterius (Leader) Vanya Valerias Ilsundal Kagyar (Other immortals from the Church of Thyatis, listed in the Thyatis Players guide may also be allowed as minor deities, but probably only the native Thyatian ones, not imported ones like Odin or Al-Kalim) The Church of Traladara includes Halav (Leader) Petra Zirchev Chardastes (minor) Håvard ______________________________________________________ Få den nye Yahoo! Unfortunately it's either not there or I'm an idiot and cannot find it. The Immortals boxed set is there but not WotI wherein I was to understand one would find the revised immortals rules. The Immortals level module "Wrath of Olympus" is available but that doesn't interest me. What I want is to learn how the following events came to transpire: 1) What happened with the Nucleus of the Spheres? (I have GAZ for Glantri) 2) How did the Shadowelves facilitate the destruction of Alfheim? (I have GAZes for Shadowelves and Alfheim) 3) How did the sinking of Alphatia occur and how did NACE come into being? 4) What events lead to the creation of the Great Crater? 5) How much of the above is rooted in canon and what is fanon? (sorry for the english butchering here) If I am mistaken please, please, please enlighten me. (I have GAZ for Glantri) Uhm, Rad used it to build a super nuclear weapon of sorts, then used it on Alphatia. One of the Old Ones intervened, and Rad got sucked into the NoS, which was recharged. Then the Old Ones tinkered a bit with the NoS, causing it to drain Entropy (at least for a while). > 2) How did the Shadowelves facilitate the destruction of Alfheim? Rad sinked Alphatia with his Doomsday weapon. Later, the surviving alphatian territories (colonies) joined in the New Alphatian Empire under Emperor Zandor, who was later deposed, and replaced with a federal government. > 4) What events lead to the creation of the Great Crater? A meteor was sent by the Master of Hule to hit Darokin, but his aim was bad (joke, I don't remeber what happened exactly) and Glantri was hit instead. > 5) How much of the above is rooted in canon and what is fanon? (sorry > for the english butchering here) Apart from the NACE, IIRC, the rest is all canon. Thanks. It raises a lot more questions but I'll poke around for a few months and grab some more ESDs (hate using credit card on net, hates it I does) before asking (stupid) questions again. Until WotI become available though, what stuff would you suggest in order to best understand the pre/post-Wrath personalities, events and political situation assuming one already has the gazeteer series. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Giampaolo Agosta" To: Sent: Tuesday, January 14, 2003 5:53 PM Subject: Re: [MYSTARA] Wrath of the Immortal --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Surely the PWAs (if they are already ESD-ed); the Gold Immortals Boxed Set presents the basic concepts of Immortals and Spheres of Energy, the basis of the War. Also, the big "trigger" goes down to the Blackmoor Era, so you could be interested in getting DA1-DA4. For particular areas of the conflict: 1) modules X4-X5 + X10 present the Master of Hule offensive vs. Darokin (one of the main events in War), actually X10 is used as the basis for AC1005's invasion. Those will give you quite a bit of detail. 2) Alphak's grounds, ways and plots are well covered in M1-M2 and M5. 3) Champions of Mystara (both the boxed set and the Princess Ark series in Dragon Magazine) presents quite a lot of info on politics of Heldann, their enmity with Alphatia and even some direct clues about the War. 4) CM is quite solid, if a bit sketchy, for pre-War Norworld. 5) Mark of Amber (boxed adventure for AD&D 2nd ed) is directly linked to post-War Glantri (and the Ambreville family). That's all which comes to my mind, barring the GAZs and the Hollow World info (not too involved in War, but a lot in post-War, see the PWAs) Andres ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Jan 2003 17:38:08 -0800 From: Darth Darknerd Subject: Alsmost Ready Hey, I've been silent because I have been down with studies, but I have also been busy assembling and organizing my campaign. I almost got enough players in my area, and I'll introduce them to Mystara. One was familar with the setting, but couldn't recollect until I told him that it was the original campaign. I have a webpage on it at: http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/ShadowTriad/mystara.html I also put a little web calculater for calculating the Ability Score Points, as per D&D3E DMG pg20. Though, I have to make it check for IE-Win32, as IE whips form data on a refresh... :-( __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. You won't get the full detail of the products, but it can be quite helpful. I would advise having a look at (if you havent already) are the vaults (http://www.dnd.starflung.com/) and the archives for this list first tho (http://oracle.wizards.com/archives/mystara-l.html the search is great, and there is a tone in there.) The vaults contains concise peices of wisdom and infomation that have been posted on this list, while the archives have everything that goes through this list for the last number of years. The PWA 1 was my main source of info on WotI's fallout for a long time after I joined the list. The first poor wizards almanac (PWA1) is the best mystara buy that I have made (IMO) and it has almost everything you need to play anywhere in mystara. Eventially I gave in and got WotI so I would be fully aware of everything that happened only to find out that I already knew most of the key stuff anyway. The large key in WotI is the detailed timeline that it has. It is *more accurate* then what is avalible on the net but if you are mainly dealing with the master's war side of it you probally could do without it and there is plenty to do without having PC's directly involved in the adventures in WotI (which are not *that* good IMO). As a whole WotI is fantastic tho, and I think it is a good thing to have, but you don't *need* it to play through that period IMO. This is a good summary of the events of the WotI period: http://dnd.starflung.com/timewoti.html and the PWA period: http://dnd.starflung.com/timepwa.html and one last comment > 3) Champions of Mystara (both the boxed set and the Princess Ark series in > Dragon Magazine) presents quite a lot of info on politics of Heldann, their > enmity with Alphatia and even some direct clues about the War. This also has excellent info on sind and the great waste reagons pre-war which is good post war too as it means you can flesh it out a lot more. Since I aquired it these are the bits I have read while the princess ark bits seem to be gathering dust. Oh and it also details the pre-war armies of sind (which are also in PWA2 I believe). Oh and welcome to the list. Chris ------------------------------ End of MYSTARA-L Digest - 13 Jan 2003 to 14 Jan 2003 (#2003-15) ***************************************************************
