Very good and very funny, you've done a great thing to translate it :-) Another proof that French fantasy comics are the best in the world.. bye Francesco ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Aug 2003 08:49:38 -0700 From: John Calvin Subject: Re: Terra, Djaea, and Ordana's Home Plane >> BTW, your idea for mortal PCs helping to reseed a plane corrupted by evil/entropy could work just as well in an immortal-level adventure. The only difference is that the foes would be //MUCH// more powerful. Oh and also, portals (from Lhondaras) to the personal planes of Calitha Starbrow and Faunus would make for some noteworthy links. << Thanks for the feedback Shawn. You're right about the immortal level "reseeding" adventure. In fact I see this as one of Djaea's primary goals. I think she spends much of her time scouting the planes for a suitably destroyed world, and then once it's found she plans for its rebirth. Of course she would bump into some Entropics along the way, perhaps even powerful Entropic allies (like the Burrowers) also need to be overcome. I was starting to think that Djaea and Rafiel might confront one another quite often as well. Rafiel finds a nice place to build one of his Chambers (ala the CoS), and Djaea actively opposes its construction. She knows what can happen if one of Rafiel's experiments goes wrong... another GRoF. In fact this has happened several times (inferred by the several charred and broken Chambers that are still linked to Rafiel's home plane). After such an occurence Djaea and her followers step in and try to rebuild the world. Rafiel in turn, will have to deal with this when he tries to re-establish his Chamber on the plane in question. Now he has to bypass and or corrupt Djaea's followers in order to accomplish his goals. Darn, that's a great idea. I'm going to have to update both plane entries. As for links to Calitha and Faunus' home planes I agree. I will to have to put references in about those. I didn't do it yet because I'm still not sure about what their planes are like. Sure, they'd be "woodsey", but what else? What would make them stick out from any other heavily forested outer plane? Any ideas? -John ===== Rule #85. I will not use any plan in which the final step is horribly complicated, e.g. "Align the 12 Stones of Power on the sacred altar then activate the medallion at the moment of total eclipse." Instead it will be more along the lines of "Push the button." from "A Guide to Becoming an Evil Overlord" by Peter Anspach __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Keep in mind that these are unfinished ideas and there may be some inconsistencies. Vanya & Petra These two immortals intrigue me greatly (although I think someone was smoking something pretty bad when they did their write-up in WotI). Petra was a warrior queen of the Traladar people in what is now Karameikos. Her sponsor was supposedly Vanya. Now Vanya was a warrior maiden of the Kerendas tribe in Davania. Her people were driven out by the Millenians who were descendants of the Traldar. So it seems like the order of things is all messed up... Vanya sponsors Petra to immortality, Petra's people migrate to Davania, then chase out Vanya (who has not yet become an immortal). I do realize that we are dealing with immortals from the sphere of Time however. These darn Time immortals...makes your head hurt. I stumbled across a great adventure posted on the Planescape ML about Xill warriors who stalk the planes in search of sentient beings that they can implant their eggs in. [I never realized this before but the Xill are vaguely Hivebrood-like]. So I started to envision columns of Xill marching across the planes ready to do battle. In fact they have to do battle in order to survive. They must capture slaves or else no more baby Xill. This kind of philosophy works very well with Vanya I think. I picture a vast open grassy plane that sees a lot of marching (by humans and inhumans alike). All are devoted to Vanya's ideals of battle and conquest. Khoronus Another Time immortal... We already know something about this plane. Khoronus has gathered a Blackmoorian population there. Travel across this plane is travel through 'time' instead of 'distance'. Perhaps the plane is composed of just one city, but an infinite number of time periods for that city can be reached. Perhaps these different time periods even conduct trade among each other, thus blurring the lines a bit. There is also a darker place/time on this plane. A time where Khoronous will not go. What lurks in the darkness then? And what impact might this have on all of the immortals? Khoronous will not say. Asterius The patron of merchants and theives. I picture this plane as being a vast crossroads across the Multiverse. Travellers through this plane can get to just about anywhere else...for the right price. Nothing here is free. It's kind of like Darokin on steroids. Other immortals might 'pay' to move troops through this plane. It may be the fastest way to get from one plane to another (since it connects to so many). I can see many of the more war-like immortals making deals with Asterius in this fashion. Vanya, Petra, Karaash, etc... Well, that's just a few ideas. Enjoy. -John ===== Rule #85.
