The only italian-translated RPG has been, for many years, Dungeons and Dragons (AD&D2E wasn't translated until 1995 circa), so almost everyone had the red, blue and green boxes and the "grand duchy of karameikos". That's the main reason for its popularity. Iulius Sergius Scaevola Captain of the XXth Cohort Port Lucinius, Thyatis ______________________________________________________________________ Yahoo! AD&D arrived in Italy much later than OD&D (the boxes), so most of us began roleplaying with the Red Box. Quite a few OD&D items were translated (the boxes, some ten modules, and five of the Gazs), while most of the AD&D stuff wasn't translated until recently -- say, the first Ravenloft item in Italian was Domains of Dread, IIRC. The only other campaign setting ever translated was FR (don't know which one was the first, though). Therefore, especially in the late 80ies and early 90ies, most Italian D&D players were using the Known World, which translates to the current high number of Italian fans of Mystara. Sorry to hear it. Doesn't sound like you like it too much down here but try to make the best of it while you can. At least it ain't cold. To tell you the truth (shhhh... don't tell anyone) I am really a New Yorker at heart (and would live there again) it's just that I've been living in Florida for the past 12 years.
