For example, Vorloi it's a small town in the south of Karameikos, but what it's in there? What kind of town is Vorloi? Cities like Rugalov, all the keeps (Koriszegy, Radlebb, Riverfork, King's Road, Castellan), Sulescu, Luln, Vorloi, Dmitrov have no map (i suppose). Is there someone can give me some good hint where to find something of detailed? I fear there are no maps of those cities in official products nor there are fan maps of those places as far as I know... but I draw a map of Luln some time ago, and one of Fort Doom/Halag... they are not high quality maps for sure, and handmade... I could scan them, but I haven't a scanner here and now, and so I could do it only the next month, maybe... By the way we could put online the best maps we have done for our campaigns, at least maps regarding famous places like Luln and so on... What do you think about this ? What kind of town is Vorloi? Hi! There is only a small number of sources on Karameikan towns. Most of the info is in the Gaz, but Rifflian is detailed in B10 to a small extent. IIRC there was some detail on Fort Doom in a Dragon Magazine article. As to Vorloi, it is a quiet town. Since its major activity is the port, and the Vorloi family owns most or maybe all of the ships that land here, I would assume that there would be a number of warehouses and a series of craftsmen that produce tools and equipment for the ships. Also, land transports must be important here to send the various goods to their final market, and to convey goods from the countryside. > Cities like Rugalov, all the keeps (Koriszegy, Radlebb, Riverfork, King's > Road, Castellan), Sulescu, Luln, Vorloi, Dmitrov have no map (i suppose). > Is there someone can give me some good hint where to find something of > detailed? Castellan's Keep's map is in B2 (Keep on the Borderlands). Castle Koriszegy is but a ruin, the map is in the Gazetteer. Sulescu is a very small village, I doubt there would be much but Sulescu's castle, a single inn, a blacksmith, and perhaps someone who builds boats and does occasional carpentry works. Most of the local people would be farmers and/or fishermen. There should be a small shrine of the Church of Traladara. Luln is probably the most interesting of these towns, from an adventurer's point of view. The people here is far from rich, but the town acts as a hub for the trappers, explorers and hunters that work in the nearby hills, and the refugees from the Black Eagle Barony. Therefore, there must be several inns and taverns, and some permanent merchants dealing in adventuring equipment (a bowyer/fletcher, a weaponsmith). This town also has a seedier side, as some merchants who deal with the Black Eagle will use Luln as a base of operations (with small warehouses). Also, mercenaries looking for work would be quite common. I would add a newly-built Church of Traldara temple, and a fortified townhouse. The whole town is probably quite dirty, with a lot of small, ill-kept wooden buildings. A few stone buildings may have been built in recent years, depending on your time-frame. Yes, the old Enterprise 1701 was right off the Naval Base which was close to Glenridge Middle School... Ahhh.. the good old days. :) As Dustin said, it is now Sci-Fi City which is located near the intersection of 436 with Colonial (HWY 50).. If that intersection rings a bell :) Needless to say, I go there often.. In fact, I was there very recently and with regards to Mystara they still have G:KoM and perhaps the AD&D Karameikos boxed set still.. Unfortunately, all the OD&D stuff has been long gone. Just something funny in the way of trivia... did Bruce Heard comment anywhere on his taking / being inspired by characters in Michael Moorcock's "The Dancers at the End of Time" series to name quite a few of the personalities in Glantri? I just finished the trilogy today (hard to come by, but recently back in print), and there seems to be more than a matter of chance... you even have a character called "Brannart Morphail". Maybe the whole notion of the NoS could then be inspired by the city power stores of Earth at the End of Time too... Anybody has a clue on that??
