Has anyone here ever ordered anything from the Hitpointe? I sent them an email a week ago with an order, and haven't heard anything from them yet. Just wondering if that's normal... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Oct 2003 06:03:52 EST From: Wizards Shopper Subject: Re: Hitpointe Ordering? I always got what I'd ordered, but I seem to recall that their service was a bit slow, especially if you paid by personal check. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Oct 2003 08:51:29 -0500 From: Trinixx of Westmarch Subject: Re: Hitpointe Ordering? I ordered from the Hitpointe longer ago than that, (4-5 years ago?) and I had a long wait for shipping as well, even though I ordered on credit. At the time they had a promotional offer; for every $20 of product you order, you get $5 toward free TSR products from a list of surplus adventurers/novels, etc. they had in stock (that wasn't the exact deal, but you get the idea). I never ordered from them again because they tried to gyp me on the free stuff -- which was a primary reason I ordered from them in the first place. When I got my shipment without my free stuff, I put in a call (long distance on my tab) to listen to them rudely assert that they had sent all the free stuff I chose in the order (it was about a $50 value). They ended up sending all the free stuff separately, but it was not without a battle. All the while the Hitpointe was of the unspoken opinion that I was a liar just trying to get more free stuff. I'm about 5 hours away from their store as well, and the time they took to ship was inexcusable. In short, I don't recommend them. I remember last time I ordered from them was 2 or 3 years ago. I did quite a few orders from them and they were OK, in my opinion, though the feedback flow seemed to be slower and poored than other places (like titangames, dragontrove, sagesguild or nobleknight). Their prices were on the medium section of the scale, not really cheap, but not outrageously overcharged, either, though for a few D&D and AD&D items they did seem to exaggerate a bit. IIRC, the owners/managers seemed to do some travel around at times, so it was not uncommon that orders sat idly for 10 days or so, but in those cases they used to stick a notice on their main page saying "we're away till ...". I remember a problem with them, related to shipping. I got a package from them but I was away for the week and the mail service recalled it back to the origin point (my orders are international and I get them with insurance and tracking system). I contacted them to get a re-shipping and they failed to give me a proper response and, sure, to re-ship the items or notify me if they had been lost in the postal service. I got my insurance, but that does not help much with OOP things...
