Dustin, I hoped that you would react to my review. So thank you for the confirmation. The timing of that old worlds Dragon mag must be very helpful for your upcoming release of the new Blackmoor. With all the material you surely have ready, and some of which you showed us as exclusive previews, what dictated the choice of article featured in Dragon? Why did you choose to showcase something entirely new, rather than something that might have been closer to known Blackmoor components (like the Peshwas we got a glimpse of)? Why was the article kept so short (at three pages length, I think it's the shortest one of the mag)? > Dustin Clingman > Zeitgeist Games, Inc. > www.zeitgeistgames.com I wondered, the article in Dragon says Goodman Games, and your sig says Zeitgeist Games. Can you enlighten us? PS: As Joaquin pointed out, the articles use 3.5 rules and not 3. Since I don't use either it's all the same to me, so sorry if I didn't make the distinction clear. BTW, that's why I also can't judge whether the new classes, feats and other options are well balanced, and encourage you to playtest them. Alright, I still have got an article to read and review. ===== ___________________________________________________________ Herve Musseau http://www.geocities.com/hmusseau/ __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Ahh, it's up and running now... Must've been a temporary glitch somewhere between here and there. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Dec 2003 09:43:50 -0500 From: Dustin Clingman Subject: Re: Blackmoor article >> The timing of that old worlds Dragon mag must be very helpful=20 >> for your upcoming release of the new Blackmoor. They asked up for = the article to come in around that word count and it was partially edited = down, but not to its detriment at all. We are very pleased with the outcome. = The main reason I chose to go with something new is that I was pretty = certain that the people writing the other articles would probably have stuck = with something familiar or just old. Blackmoor is and always has been an = active and ever changing campaign and this goes to show that fact.=20 >> I wondered, the article in Dragon says Goodman Games, and=20 >> your sig says Zeitgeist Games. Can you enlighten us? Zeitgeist Games is a corporation with Dave Arneson and myself as the = chief stockholders. We are working on producing traditional pen and paper = games as well as electronic products. We have negotiated a deal with Wizards for = the use of the Blackmoor trademark and the property regarding Blackmoor that they hold the copyright to. This effectively puts complete control of Blackmoor in our hands for a period of time. Dave Arneson's Blackmoor = will not be the Blackmoor of Greyhawk. In fact, while the map will be similar = as well as many of the names, faces and major plot lines, the entire region surrounding Blackmoor will be modified. We have to do this per our = agreement as well as to maintain that this Blackmoor is the actual vision of Dave Arneson and not of whoever decided to stick it into Greyhawk. Dave has = some disagreements with some material presented in DA1-4, but not much. Those things he disagreed with are rectified in the upcoming sourcebook. = Zeitgeist Games is producing the product from start to end. Goodman Games is our printing and distribution partner. We have an agreement with him to = handle that aspect of our business so that we can focus on making great = content.=20 >> PS: As Joaquin pointed out, the articles use 3.5 rules and=20 >> not 3. We have playtested the Omatu Master and he is a lot of fun. Just to whet = the appetite, we are presenting a few other Prestige Classes in the main = book including the following: Docrae Outlook - a PrC that serves to warn the clan of danger Spirit Warrior - an elven only class that can devour and utilize the = spirit energy of defeated undead.=20 Dragon Knight - a hardy fighter who physically binds armor to his skin making it tough. He also emulates on a small scale some Dragon like abilities.=20 Elven Elementalist - an arcane class that manipulates the elements. Inquisitor - a class designed to hunt and subdue renegade sorcerers = and spellcasters. Think of them as Sentinels chasing down the X-men, only a = lot smarter Fey Lord - a General for the depths of the forest. He commands the fey. Each one of these classes totally rocks and isn't just a major cheese = fest. They all have important roles to play in Dave Arneson's Blackmoor. :) Cheers!
