Hi Jonathan, I can't say much , but I am not concerned in any way about the new SRD. I can tell you that the release is slated for GenCon this July. There were a number of factors that required us to time the release then. I am not sure why you feel this is "screwed up" but we are working hard and will get it out right on time.=20 Dustin -- Dustin Clingman Zeitgeist Games, Inc. www.zeitgeistgames.com -----Original Message----- From: Mystara RPG Discussion [mailto:MYSTARA-L@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM] On Behalf Of Jonathan Nolan Sent: Wednesday, February 19, 2003 8:05 AM To: MYSTARA-L@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM Subject: Re: [MYSTARA] Zeitgeist in Limbo again? I can understand that point. I think that I made a rookie mistake in this end of the biz by getting the bees bumbling too soon. I come from the video game industry so the more hype the better on that end. Promotion starts many many month in advance. Sometimes it takes that long to really get the word out. :) Dustin -- Dustin Clingman Zeitgeist Games, Inc. www.zeitgeistgames.com -----Original Message----- From: Mystara RPG Discussion [mailto:MYSTARA-L@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM] On Behalf Of Jonathan Nolan Sent: Wednesday, February 19, 2003 9:02 AM To: MYSTARA-L@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM Subject: Re: [MYSTARA] Zeitgeist in Limbo again? > I am not sure why you feel this is "screwed up" Length of time between announcement and product mainly. I did exactly the same thing as we are talking about with the paperbacks we sell, to my eternal regret. Gamers include an element of what is sometimes called "the basher" IE there will always be faults found even in a perfect product, but with your line I can see this being more of a problem. There are the "independent" (ho ho) "unbiased" (ha ha) game sites and their attendant authors both professional and amateur and the poison pen antics they indulge in at times is nothing short of ludicrous. The reappearance of Blackmoor signals an attack, in some people's minds, on the whole current ethos (odd to use that term for something so unethical) of the Greyhawk-slanted 3e / d20 "Open" Game Licence. I disagree, and I think Blackmoor is by far the superior of the two alternative campaigns with D&D credentials. I think Monte Cook's anti-competitive attempts at rewriting the PHB et al and his tired and imitative campaign setting deserve to finish second to a re-release of Blackmoor in all its glory. You'll just need to keep the production values high and the maps beautiful. :) Anyhoo feel free to email me offlist at any time I would love to help your business and site in any way my own tiny empire can. Short of going out of business myself, obviously :-) -Jonathan ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Feb 2003 13:30:13 -0500 From: Chris Cherrington Subject: Re: Need Help with plot dev for Radu House. > > From: Darth Darknerd > > Subject: [MYSTARA] Need Help with plot dev for Radu House. > I have an old Dungeon adventure that works well with the Radu's and others. I believe there is a little hint of the plot within the Gaz itself. The basis of the plot was a love affair between the houses, ala Romeo and Juliet style. With the additional doppleganger confusing Romeo's true intentions and other magicical means and guild plots, this can be a long running background theme or short lived adventure. The first time I ran this idea, one of the love interests (a player) ran off to Darokin to start his own merchant house to escape the familial bonds. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Feb 2003 19:41:56 -0800 From: Ramses Ramirez Subject: Nature of the Old Ones in your campaign? MML, Hello everyone! It has been a while since I posted here but I have an intriguing question I wish to ask those interested. The nature of the Old Ones has always been left to the DM's imagination by Mystara's designers and I was wondering how some of you have defined them in your game. If they exist, what is their role in your Mystaran campaign... If they don't exist then what are they "really" in your setting? .. In other words, what is the real truth behind the Old Ones in your campaign? (i.e. How do they relate to the Immortals, mortals ... Do they live in the Dimensional Vortex?..etc) I am very curious about this so go and shoot! Thanks! Ramses(aka Lancer) --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Hi Ramses! Old Ones IMC are "beyonders", sometimes called the Gods of the Gods. I base them on the strange powers of the works of Jack Kirby -- the Source and Anti-Life. Between those two poles is the full pantheon of monstrous and beautiful Old Ones. Beneath the Old Ones, in conscious or unwitting imitation of them are the Immortals. "Downward to the earth" are the mortal races. Old One adventures I have run range from the HP Lovecraft no-brainers to more emotionally complex issues for high level play, such as the whole "are the gamers at the game table the Old Ones" and "is the gameworld part of an infinite regression". I stress that Old Ones don't think about mortals or immortals or if they do the thought processes and motivations of the Old Ones are unguessable. -Jonathan ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Feb 2003 22:28:28 -0800 From: Darth Darknerd Subject: Gif of the Kopru FYI, I found a cool pic of the kopru from wizards website: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mm2_gallery/88268_620_77.jpg Some other Mystaran monsters are: Juggernaught: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mm2_gallery/88268_620_75.jpg Yakman (summoned by Ethengar shaman, DragonLord novel): http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mm2_gallery/88268_620_126.jpg Crimson Death (Savage Coast novel, forget name): http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mm2_gallery/88268_620_23.jpg I wasn't sure if this was a race (scorpian folk?)mentioned in one of the Princess Ark articles, but if it is, it might look like this: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mm2_gallery/88268_620_111.jpg __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
