Thus, your .sig has become > poltically charged through no doing of your own, but due to the current > world poltical situation. The fact that you took offense at this normally benign phrase says a lot. I wonder what reaction was expected from their long-time allies when the U.S. shifted their doctrine so wildly, to one where they initiate wars of conquest in which they plan on using weapons of mass destruction and will certainly commit war crimes (the irony of the situation is lost only to the supporters of the war). Big changes in doctrine shall have big effects on worldwide relations, not to mention the great risk that the U.S. has started a war that may well spread and become the third world war. What if, as a Frenchman, I were to speak on that list the sentence that sparked this rant? Would I be also asked to shut up because of alleged anti-Americanism? If so, then I better not see anyone make any remark that could be considered pro-American, even something as simple but as seemingly benign as a "God Bless America". If some people are upset by what they feel are anti-American remarks, it should come as no surprise that some people are similarly upset by anti-French remarks. ===== ___________________________________________________________ Herve Musseau http://www.geocities.com/hmusseau/ __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? As a veteran of combat and the cold war I find this whole thread disgusting. Everyone has the freedom of expression in this country. This is a moderated list, and that freedom does not extend to this sort of crap that is designed to do nothing but stir up bad feelings. If this continues I will withdraw from the list. Havn't seen it before so I don't know how it has improved in the last update. I especially liked the languages part (even though it was not finished). It is obvious you are influenced by the 3rd edition handbooks. Also I liked the usage of the hebrew font for "Celestial". Nice to know my primary language is "celestial" :-) Can't hear the music till I reach a computer with speakers, but I look forward to it. Great job Morphail Brendan Corliss wrote:"Greetings Friends! Darokin City" http://www.geocities.com/brendan_corliss/ OK, OK, so there's the in-character hype and here's the real deal: I've given Corliss Enterprises a facelift and (sorely overdue) update. Unfortunately, there are still some bugs and pages under construction, but there is also alot of new and improved stuff. So, if you haven't checked out the site in a while - or, especially if you've never checked it out - I think you'll find something interesting (even if you have a difference of opinion on how I've presented something). Anyway, please take a look if you feel so inclined and sign my guestbook. Oh yeah, don't forget to read the FAQ; it will clarify things tremendously. And, yes, ANY feedback is encouraged (good, bad or indifferent). Thanks! -Damon __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I'm > not making up numbers: go and read PWA Warmachine stats and then tell me > that Alphatia's power is waning. The problem with the PWA stats is that they are, basically, overstated. The PWA uses the stats for Alphatian Man-o-War for the entire Alphatian Sky Navy, whereas in its original write-up in CoM the Man-o-War is an elite ship, presumably quite uncommon, with less powerful ships comprising most of the Navy. Likewise, the stats for Thyatian armies in the PWA use the weakest stats ever published prior to that, while ignoring anything more powerful. So the PWA stats should not be taken as an authority - if they were, it's hard to see how Thyatis could even put up any kind of opposition to Alphatia in WotI. Whether it was because they did not read my mail I am not certain. If anyone else comments on this OT thread, I will give them a personal warning not to do it again. If they do so a second time, they will be booted off. *draws spiked mace for dramatic effect* Normally I would encourage the free flow of ideas, but in a time like this, when passions are flaring, we can often say things that, upon reflection, we would not - or at the very least we would say it differently. Let's all try not to spoil the atmosphere for everyone here. There are plenty of fora out there where you can express your views. I see the potential for one here, with the recent discussions on the relative strength of RW global powers, and the ability of native peoples to fight them. I am playing catchup and I plan to vision my module conversions, work on JavaScript tools, start on B10: Night's Dark Terror conversion, detail out elven clans, and work on Vampire/WereWolf societies of Karameikos. I will also post my 3E conversions of modules at: http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/ShadowTriad/mystara3e.html These ones are updated either once or twice a week. Any feedback appreciated. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
