I think you're right about the true oldtimers :-) I'm an oldtimer too, my campaign began quite low magic, but I updated myself after reading the Glantri Gaz and DotE :-) I liked the ideas of Chris Cherrington about a low magic campagin anyway. Neverthless I agree with Shawn Johnson about the great presence of magic: it's one of the best feature of Mystara and one thing that make the setting different from the others, and better.
