Hmmm...quite a few interesting ideas on this race there Colin. What if the appearance of Sabreclaws at Sabre River wasn't the first appearance of this race on Mystara? Perhaps their immortal creator has working for some time trying to spread the race, and conveniently slipped the spell into that mage's spellbook so that he could help the immortal's spreading of the race? He could have done the same in other places aswell... Havard ===== *** Håvard R. Faanes www.stud.ntnu.no/~havardfa ______________________________________________________ Få den nye Yahoo! I noticed that 3e does indeed have rules for Swarm creatures, but I think they require the creatures to be very small to have a common HP pool. OTOH, we could give them the ability to transfer wounds to others whom they are ESP linked to if those are willing, thus allowing the same effect, but making Sabreclaws more useful as individual creatures as well.... What do you think? Havard ===== *** Håvard R. Faanes www.stud.ntnu.no/~havardfa ______________________________________________________ Få den nye Yahoo! One of the humanoid immortals, perhaps? It is about time good old Kurtulmak came up with something other than Kobolds. How big/small are the Sabreclaws btw? And, are they related to Tabi at all? The whole corruption/rotting water thing makes them seem to have alot in common.... My reason for wanting the Sabreclaws to be and older than from Sabre River, is that I prefer spreading events (especially creation of races) throughout the Timeline, and there is so much going on around AC1000-1010 which is probably when Sabre River happens.... Sabre River can have happened any time. It's set in Norwold, shortly after the events of CM1 and CM2, and as CM1 is early in Ericalls reign I'd imagine that you can comfortably stage it much earlier than the Gazeteer era (although from memory I can't remember when Ericall would've become King). I'll dig out the old copy of CM3 this evening if I can find it and tell you what it says about their size in the morning. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Jun 2004 12:46:39 -0400 From: Chris Cherrington Subject: Re: Familars: Sabreclaws I think Jammadaru and his association of poisonous things would be a good pick, and a better one than Kurtulmak. ============================================================ From: Havard Faanes Date: 2004/06/24 Thu AM 11:00:08 EDT Good idea!
