Net almanacs, gazetteers, handbooks and adventures cannot be permanently "under construction", like Barcellona's cathedral: at a some point, they must be released to the general public (Revisions are a completely different matter, IMO). Making them with a wiki not open to the general public could ensure a faster developement of those projects (today all done only via email, AFAIK) and at the same time protect the work already done from troublemakers, like script kiddies and vandals. Therefore I suggest to modify the wiki software to include a button (available only to project leaders) that, by making the text read-only, declares a project milestone (i.e. an handbook chapter or a whole month/day for almanacs) reached, finalized and done. >> I think a Mystarapedia managed along the guidelines used by the >> "Encyclopedia of Arda" would be a perfect (if not ideal) use for a >> wiki-like software. > What is "Encyclopedia of Arda"? http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/ Browse it. Revere it. Admire it. It's a masterpiece of its genre (web encyclopedias). I'm very envious of Tolkienians and Middle Earth fans.
