Nice map. I've some doubts on the Enduks, since they're not supposed to have existed in large numbers before the foundation of Nimmur. Also, at the time of Blackmoor the Wallara and Aranea civilizations were thriving -- though perhaps too small to appear on the map. Anyway, good work and a much needed map. Ah, and the Skotharian positioning is the most likely, IMO. These are taken from the Mystaros Blackmoor epic. The appearance of the Enduks at this stage does indeed contradict canon, but then again, the Savage Coast material also presents a later origin date for Gatormen who were clearly around at the time of Blackmoor. IMC the first enduks were descendants of Archons who are sometimes attributed with Bull-like heads (according to the original Immortals rules, female Archons had Bull-like heads). > Also, at the time of Blackmoor the Wallara and > Aranea civilizations were > thriving -- though perhaps too small to appear on > the map. Interesting. Were these both located on the Savage Coast? > Anyway, good work and a much needed map. > Ah, and the Skotharian positioning is the most > likely, IMO. Thanks. I intend to make more historical maps later on, providing general information on the civilizations of Mystara at various points of her history, both before and after the Great Rain of Fire. Much canon material described Blackmoor as being located just north of the Known World, with Glantri City corresponding to the Valley of the Ancients, the Ethengar steppes to the Peshwa lands etc. However, this doesn't fit very well with the Blackmoor map. With the introduction of the Hollow World boxed set, Blackmoor was moved to Skothar and all later material supports that. On the HW precataclysmic map, Thonia was placed north of Blackmoor though, which is a major contradiction with all Blackmoor material. I decided to move it south of Blackmoor and assume that the "thonia" region north of Blackmoor is a later Thonian settlement. Cheers! :) Håvard ===== *** Håvard R. Yes -- just see the relative position of these landmarks and the apparent position of the city of Blackmoor (Broken Lands, Comeback Inn): it simply doesn't make much sense. > On the HW precataclysmic map, Thonia > was placed north of Blackmoor though, which is a major > contradiction with all Blackmoor material. Looking forward to see the other maps ;) GP -- Giampaolo Agosta http://digilander.iol.it/agathokles ------------------------------ End of MYSTARA-L Digest - 1 Sep 2004 to 2 Sep 2004 (#2004-184) **************************************************************
