They went about Known World and acquired (sometimes in distastful ways) magic lore. IMC, I have pockets of knowledge, like the ancient wizard with untold powers and lore. No one knows how he learned his craft. Magic is all but disappeared, but these pockets remain. These wizards closely guard their secrets and live in seclusion to study their art. Karameikos has many of these types of wizards and so do the Five Shires. There's a strong fear that a rival or ancient unknown enemy, perhaps from Nithia's past might seek them out and kill them for their power. There's also a natural fear of jealous wizards and fearful peasants and the fear of maybe even Glantrian lore hunters or Alphatian agents. Also, when Karameikos has a School of Magic, only the basics are taught. The students have to go to Glantri to really learn. It's like learning Chinese in USA; you can only go so far. Once your emersed where everyone is speaking, you become a master... -- joaquin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
