Ok, I'll join in: My name's Damon Alexander Brown. On the list I sometimes go by my NPC alter-ego, Brendan Corliss. I was born on Dec. 31, 1970 in Arcadia, California - just northeast of Los Angeles. During the day, I work in the warehouse for the Caterpillar (tractor & heavy equipment) dealer in Washington state and by night, I work on music, deal with my trouble-maker dachshund, Max, and try to stay one step ahead of the players in my current Mystara campaign (see below). I started role-playing in 1982 with the old pre-red box basic rules. I was introduced to D&D by the Pastor of my church - no, really. He ran a couple sessions with me and his two oldest sons, who were my about my age, before the three of us struck out on our own with me as DM. For the next few years I played with those guys as well some other friends from school - never really a campaign per se, just a bunch of random adventures. Eventually, I got into AD&D and started collecting all the hardback books. Unfortunately, everyone else lost interest in playing, so I just kept collecting and read up on stuff during my junior-high years. In high-school, I got into Traveller and dabbled with Twilight: 2000. I pretty much stopped role-playing from 18-22 but picked up again after I moved to Seattle (where I still reside) and found some more people into RPG's. I ran a very short-lived Mystara campaign, based entirely on the Rules Compendium. Then I played in a couple of long-term campaigns, one set in Greyhawk and another in the Forgotten Realms. Meanwhile, I played a little bit of Elric/Stormbringer and Star Wars. By '98, I had collected most Mystara stuff and attempted another abortive Mystara campaign. I then played in another DM's Greyhawk campaign for a couple of years. In 2002, I started up yet another Mystara campaign which has mutated a bit and given birth to the campaign that I'm currently running. I'm a big fan of Karameikos and I'm currently running the guys through Night's Dark Terror (the greatest module ever, IMHO). We're playing 3.5 with some pretty major options from Unearthed Arcana. The main one is using Gestalt characters, which we've managed to do without sinking into power-gaming/munchkinism. We normally only get together every other week but we try to get as much accomplished during the time we have. Most of us are veteran gamers with anywhere from 10-20 years experience, so we've pretty much figured out what works and what doesn't as far as keeping the sessions streamlined while adapting to new rules. It's really great to hear about everyone else's gaming expeiences; keep 'em coming! -Damon aka Brendan Corliss Corliss Enterprises, Ltd. Well, I uploaded the map of the Tuma region from B8: Journey to the Rock. It's available in 1 mi/hex and 8 mi/hex versions. Now to find somewhere to put it on Mystara itself... http://www.angelfire.com/ca3/cthulhudrew/images/JtR.gif ------------------------------ End of MYSTARA-L Digest - 21 Dec 2004 to 22 Dec 2004 (#2004-271) ****************************************************************
