I thought I would share with you what we ended up doing for my gaming session last night. Just as I suspected the thief heads out to cheat because they were in town. The thief is just being greedy as they just returned from a profitable adventure. These two facts in mind I decided to use cards as the game of choice. I read the sections in the the Complete Thief's Handbook and those from Skills and Powers and was inspired to wing it, here is what I did and if anyone has any ideas on improving on this please feel free, I would appreciate it. The dice used for the antie and the stakes could be whatever was appropriate for the kind of stakes you are playing. 1d4 antie up - this stays the same through all the hands played. morale check - will this person play this hand? 1d6 stakes - yeah, they bet on winning! 1d4 draw - this is draw poker. morale check - how does that hand look now? 1d6 stakes - yeah, they bet on winning! morale check - if the stakes are high! proficiency check on gaming - Are we cheating at this? The only reason there is no mention of it in the gazetters is ofcourse because there was never any rules for half-dwarf PCs in either version of the D&D system back then. Personally I'm in favour of having a few half-dwarves around. Check out the Midnight Campaign Sourcebook for rules on how to play human-dwarf, orc-dwarf, dwarf-halfling and human-halfling crossbreeds. Havard ===== *** Håvard R.
