The WotC site is still a pain in the you know what to navigate, but let me know when you find something there! :) Btw: Welcome back :) Havard ===== *** Håvard R. It's like Sauron winning, it does make me said. Sad can be good though. However, WotI seemed more inclined to take away stuff from the setting than to bring new and more interesting stuff into it. Which is why I still feel that AC1000 is more interesting than AC1010. IMC I solved the Alfheim issue by having all the elves from Alfheim migrate into the Athruagin area and found a new Alfheim there. That sort of messes with the Athruagins, but If I have to chose, ill rather let them go than the Alfheimers. The Athruaginians are still around though, working for the elves, although heavy humanoid raids have reduced them in numbers so as to make room for the elves. > My player chose to be an Alfheim Elf *knowing* their > fate. > Well, I'l have to work hard on that one, hey? My main (GM)reason to bring it back to the surface, is ofcourse that it is a cool setting. The in-game reason involves a great project by Terari. Aiding Alphatia through crisees is ofcourse a part of his quest for Immortality as a Dynast (see Dawn of the Emperors). He will need some major immortal help to pull that one off though. It is quite long, about 25 full Word pages. I didn't include War Machine details anymore, since it is too much work. But it is still a semi-narrative description of one possible outcome of the X10 war. (WotI's and MoA's spoilers) [Compilation Post: Various Cuts & Pastes] <> Sounds good. Back when I was with the Almanac something along these lines were discussed...using Terari/Tylion's Path of the Dynast. <<> Do you also feel that Glantri suffered - too much - > less than Alphatia? I kinda like the Crater. Although it is bad for Glantri it did make that part of the country more interesting.>> You knew I had to chime in on this. I would say that Alphatia suffered more. Alphatia lost the continental heart of its empire. The Alphatian Empire, was gutted, removing the key aspects of mages, clerics, rulership, agricultural base, logistics, and population to secure its borders. Victory over the rival thyatians, followed by Alphatian Armies marching on rival Glantri were washed away in a paragraph of scripted text. All of which were done to thrust Karameikos into the forefront as part of the "new Mystara" product line. That done, Glanti was revived enough from its vague and scripted damage to be made into a magical rival for Karameikos. In short, WotI was made to remove Alphatia and thyatis. <<> >I dont like Clerics being allowed in Glantri. > > Why not? Because it is one of the things that made Glantri different. Why take that unique feature away? IMC that was only a temporary thing to help deal with the plague. Now things are back to normal, although underground sympathy for Clerics has been strengthened.>> The "no cleric" laws were one of the aspects that made Glantri unique and gave Glantri its identity. You'll notice that each sizable nation as a class identity. Glantri is mage. Alphatia was magic (mage and cleric). thyatis is fighter and some cleric. Heldannic Knights is cleric and warrior. Karameikos is warrior with a blossoming mage culture. The Ethengar were anti-mage. To name a few. I would have expected Glantri's ruling mages to bolster their superiority of mage magic over cleric magic. Likewise, I would expect more signs that clerics had been benefiting the Glantrians to bolster support from them. <<> >Think about the ending. > >I really _hate_ the Day of Dread- > >I dont like what happened to the Alfheim elves. > > Yes. Alfheim is given as the elvish homeland, so to speak. However, if you take the population figures, which I do not have at the moment, I am sure that the pre-invasion figures for Alfheim are less than those of elves living within Wendar and Belcadiz (combined), possibly Wendar alone. Heck, Shiye-Lawr is around 55k after the sinking. IIRC Alfheim was home to seven clans. Given population figures in the Gaz are vague, focusing on populations for Clan Strongholds. IIRC these were only a 1000-2000 each. <> Don't forget his mother, who is also undead. The discovery of Crackle's existence is a factor in her giving up during WotI. Using them in the Almanac was discussed a while back. I am not sure about it actually being implemented. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Mar 2004 23:36:35 -0300 From: "Vinicius R. de Moraes" Subject: Mystara Electronic Games Taken from my beloved page http://www.dnd.starflung.com/prodlist.html "Mystara Electronic Games This includes computer/electronic games which provide new material about Mystara. Note that the IBM PC compatible game is not included in this list, as it only contained information taken from the various Gazetteers." I only kew about "Tower of Doom" and "Shadow over Mystara". Hint: I know them as CAPCOM arcade machines; they work great in my PC with the help of a "MAME", a CAPCOM arcade machines *emulator*. Questions: - The console for Warriors of the Eternal Sun is listed as "Sega Genesis". Is there any other? - Is there any other console for "Tower of Doom" and "Shadow over Mystara"? - What is the console for Fantasy Empires? - What are the PC game(s) about Mystara? I believe there was a collection of the two for the Sega Saturn, but that was only released in Japan, if I recall correctly. > - What is the console for Fantasy Empires? Fantasy Empires is the only Mystara-specific one that I'm aware of. Stronghold is OD&D based, but I don't recall there being anything Mystaran in it (except, maybe, a reference that an evil wizard came from Alphatia - but I could be misremembering.) Hope that helps. -- Aaron Nowack "Never let reality get in the way of a good hypothesis." http://www.mimiru.net/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Mar 2004 23:12:07 -0500 From: Dan Eustace Subject: Re: WotI campaign, at last! My game is still frozen in the midst of all this, so anything can still happen. Alfheim has corrupted, but the SE have not invaded yet. That will happen soon. PCs discovered that the SE were behind the changing of the forest, uncovered most of the turncoats in Alfheim clans, and alerted the Alfheimers so that they may prepare for the SE invasion. Not sure if the Alfheimers will simply flee, saving what they can, or if they will stay and fight it out, while searching for a cure to heal the forest. Maybe it would be split along clan lines. > > >I'm not sure how I feel about Alphatia > > disappearing. > > > > What else could have happened? > > Not sure.
