There isn't any official or fan-based information about them, apart that they are in feeling very similar to the human Savage Coast population. You could devise one or two dwarven Houses (families) related to the Savage Coast dwarves, that live among the Milenians. There could be a dwarven quarter in two or three of the city-states, but I think you'd better ask the Davanian experts (I think they are Geoff, Alex Benson, DM...). I have no clue regarding the elves. Giulio ______________________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Didn't someone (Thib?) post something about dwarves living in the city states not long ago? > I have no clue regarding the elves. IMC I see Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, Gnomes, Rakasta and Lupins as the major races of Mystara. These you can find virtually anywhere in the setting. In Davania, Dwarves will be found anywhere were there are hills and mountains. These colonies could either have been planted there or be descendants of dwarven expeditions from Brun or Skothar ages ago. More unusual dwarven cultures could also be found such as desert dwarves and aquatic dwarves.... As for elves, Davania was the continent where the elves first appeared. Through their migrations from the far south to Brun (Ilsundal et al) minor communities would very likely have spread throughout the continent. If you are asking for fan made information on such dwarf and elf cultures I can help you much though. Havard ===== *** Håvard R. My own city-state works were based off the premise of being vestiges of the Milenian culture on Davania. Of course, time and outside influences have made some of these "interesting". As far as dwarves and elves go, I am really out of the loop on things. I haven't been active in this forum in some time. I don't recall any dwarven cultures on Davania. If memory serves, there are several elven cultures. Given the elven migration through Davania to Brun, scattered elven cultures is reasonable. I think there are some left in Evergrun. One elven culture that I can comment on is the Aye'Taar. In short, this is a nation of winged elves and non-winged elves living in central Davania. They are decended from a body of elves chosen by Ordona (creator of the elves) to defend elven life and preserve elven culture. Their domain was originally based around the sacred valley where the elven race first emerged from. Culturally, the Aye'taar are ruled by the "exhalted" winged elves, who serve as the aristocracy. These winged elves are broken into two distinct sect; scholars and warriors. The non-winged elves are the commoners. Aye'Taar settlements are ancient elevated communities. Unknown to the elves is that their people are ruled by a cadre of vampiric winged elves. Though the vampire elves use the elves as a larder, they do adhere to the strict edicts of their people and culture. Ordana knows of this, but allows it with a watchful eye. The price in blood is seen as a petty price for the aged power and wisdom that they bear. Ordana does maintain a small group of "holy" warriors and scholars to remove these vampires should they prove to be a real threat to her chosen. The Aye'Taar follow Ordana, scoffing at their distant relatives that chose to follow Illsundel. Of the elven Immortals, Eirundul has been accepted as a benefactor of the Aye'Taar but not nearly as much as Ordana. They see him as a prophet, whereas Ordana was their creator.Eirundul likes their elven purity while also taking pleasure at their disrespect for Illsundel. The Aye'Taar domain is in the southern portion of the Havens of Diverga. The elves have been part of the Havens, their domain being considered a Haven, since agreeing to a truce with the Divergans. The two have a mutual enemy in the humanoid warlords to the west and the Pegdhart Gnomes to the south. They are cordial, but definite cultural differences maintain a sense of isolationism between the DIvergans and the AYe'Taar homeland. Except for military obligations, most interaction is limited to set settlements along the Aye'Taar borders. ------------------------------ End of MYSTARA-L Digest - 13 Mar 2004 to 14 Mar 2004 (#2004-65) ***************************************************************
