I may have asked this before, but here goes? Do any of the available texts on Sea of Dread, Undersea, or migrations, handle Kron in any way? If not, this might be an interesting project. The Karameikos conquest of the area feels mostly like German or English feudal despite the Thyatian roots. The module Veiled Society (B3?), they paint Thyatians as definately being a Roman, with even a senator NPC. The names used were Italian-like. Black Eagle Barony and von Hendriks is definately of some Germanic origin, but I do not know what era. IMC, I added nomadic tribes of gypsies, ala little Ravenloft, into the mix. Northern Reaches Well, it's obvious these were vikings, but have a big point of contention in that the weather patterns would not support the development of a viking culture, and thought Norwold would be more suitable for that. IMC, I added some magical means to artificially create frigid conditions in the region through worshippers of the Ice god (some ideas from Icewind Dale games). ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Jul 2005 19:35:56 +0200 From: Giampaolo Agosta Subject: Re: History of Kron? I don't think there are any texts discussing this issue, though I remember a discussion on Kron here. There was an idea of having Kron has the evolution of a group of Taymora or related people who were stranded on the sea after the sinking of Taymor. Zuyevo is based on the early Russian empire circa late 1600s and the Bylot hills on Siberia in the late 1700s. Christian and I thought that it fitted quite nicely in between Christian's very rich characterisation of Hule and his creation of the central Asian/Middle East inspired Yezchamenid Empire. > ******************************************************************** > The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp > The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com > To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM > with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ End of MYSTARA-L Digest - 24 Jul 2005 to 26 Jul 2005 (#2005-145) ****************************************************************
