I quite liked the idea of the PCs having to co-operate with Bargle (and by extension the Black Eagle) to eliminate the threat of the devil fish - rather than try to kill both of them. If I ran this one with my old party, there definitely would have been a lot of infighting (most would probably have tried to kill the baron without hesitation, but one or two would probably have tried to cut a deal). Still, I would think there must be some sort of motive on the part of the baron - besides self preservation...
