I tried to voice similar concerns in some web forum or other, but got little support. I find that alot of divination spells ruin almost every mystery plot I could come up with. Also a lot of movement spells are problematic. I was thinking about coming up with a list of potentially plot breaking spells and possible sollutions for them.... Re: [MYSTARA] Vedr. Re: [MYSTARA] Mystara Ponderings IMC I have a tendency to have secrets protected by magics or covered over by illusions. Often times deep secrets have guardians who will attack anyone foolish enough to pry into them by spells (a Whispering Fiend can really ruin your day when you perform a divination that brings it right to your awareness; make a save at -10 to avoid being charmed...) Aren't divination and movement spells essentially the ones that were disallowed in the Hollow World? I believe you are right, among other spells. The Hollow World has much more of a Sword & Sorcery feel than some other parts of Mystara do. The Known World is more inconsistant. So unless you want to keep that inconsistancy (which is also a possibility), you will have to chose whether to follow the line set by Gaz1 or the one from DotE or somewhere in between.... But everyone on this list already has those, right? Well they're pretty well priced anyway.
