Sorry, I'm a bit late for solstice/christmas, but I suppose I could still send all of you my best wishes for the new year :) > It is Summer here, so there is no cold (and it only snows in a couple of Brazilian cities), but lots of high temperatures. People use light clothing and drink a lot of juices and sodas. Some will even swim at night. Not bad... here it's been very cold (a few degrees above zero) for some two months -- must have been one of the coldest winters in years. > For New Year's eve, people use white clothes and have many different rituals of good fortune for the next year. Here in Italy, people is supposed to wear red, and we eat lentils and a stuffed pork foot for new year's eve. In the past, people also used to throw old stuff out of the window, but that has become too dangerous (and costly) now. Fireworks are also popular. Christmas is usually less rowdy, and the meals and traditions vary a lot, depending on the region.
