The only D&D books available in Norwegian are the old basic and expert sets (Menzter), so all of my 3.5 stuff is in english. I am using metric and making the conversions myself. This doesn't really come up as much as one would think as we never really calculate encumbrance and since we don't use miniatures. Skip Williams articles on going metric over at wizards.com were really useful, and I use his advice on making 5'=2 meters. The "5 foot step" is the term that brings up the units the most often. I almost never use dungeons anymore, but when I did, the squares never represented 10'x10'x10', but 3m x 3m x 3m. Most of the time, that is too big anyone IMO, so I'd more often go with 1m or 2m units. Again, easier for calculations than 3m ones, just like assuming 5'=2m is easier than a more accurate conversion.
