I would assume that Landed Lords have estates that are already under the control of or bordering to the lands of existing barons. The fact that a Landed Lord has a Keep in an area also does not mean that that general 8 mile hex should not be considered wilderness.... Just a thought. I have also thought about using Al Quadim and Maztica products for Mystara. How useful did you find those books? I have some of them as pdfs, but I regret not buying hard copies since I find them much easier to read and the maps are alot more useful then. I thought about placing an arabic culture on Davania, possibly as an old Ylarii coloni on Izonda. Why/Why not? Ah, I also don't play Forgotten Realms, and I still have to get a few OOP items (such as the HW and a number of non-Mystaran items). The only items I could consider are adventure modules, but then I've a lot of AD&D/OD&D modules I never managed to play, so I'm in no hurry on that part. > I have also thought about using Al Quadim and Maztica > products for Mystara. How useful did you find those > books? I used Al Qadim kits for Ylaruam, you may see some adaptations on the Vaults. I also used a Maztica character kit (Eagle Knight) in a one-shot set at the times of the colonization of the City-States. Both were quite easy to adapt to Mystara, and Al Qadim even has a Brotherhood of the Flame to match Ylaruam's Magians. Al Qadim has a different take on religion, but this is easily ignored (I don't use kahins, they are replaced by standard dervishes). I played out a couple of the short adventures in ``Corsairs of the Great Sea'', with a party based in Tameronikas, including a young sailor of Thyatian descent, a pair of members of the local zawiya (priest and wizard or sha'ir, IIRC), a dwarven merchant, and an incredibly funny fennec lupin barber :) > I have some of them as pdfs, but I regret not > buying hard copies since I find them much easier to > read and the maps are alot more useful then. I'm fine with e-books -- I read a lot on the computer, and I don't use too many maps (though I've printed maps of the SC and Hule, which I do use). > I thought about placing an arabic culture on Davania, > possibly as an old Ylarii coloni on Izonda. It could be done, considering that Ylari arrived in the Savage Coast. Both are available at WotC's webpage. I'm going to put them in the Azcan Empire in the HW. It should make a good fit for when I run MC there. Since I am running in my WnW rules, I have to convert everything to 3e or 35e. So far I have found the H'Carlos on ENWorld's Creature Catalog and maybe a few other things there too (at work....can't remember). --Ray. --- Havard Faanes wrote: > I have also thought about using Maztica > products for Mystara. I'm cool, am I not? Well, excuse me if I ask this on the list, but really I don't know where else I could ask for this without resorting to annoying (to me) means like e-bay...for collector reasons, I am searching for an used copy (in good conditions) of the old 2E Player's Handbook, the one with the two riders (Easley or Elmore, I can't remember offhand, I think Easley), not the 1996 re-edition with those awful illustrations and black/red cover. Anyone (especially in Italy) that can help me? Sorry if I ask, but the list is not particularly active so I thought this wouldn't spam too much... I'll let you know something as soon as I have had some news from some guys in Italy...it would cost me much less to have the material sent from an italian city instead than from the US or UK!
