Of course, using badgers as land mounts brings me back to the days of = Gamma World. There was a hero or lord of some kind, and his bio-tech enhan= ced mutant badger was the cover art... _________________________________________________________________ Join the next generation of Hotmail and you could win the adventure of a li= fetime http://www.imagine-msn.com/minisites/sweepstakes/mail/register.aspx= ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 May 2006 06:51:39 -0700 From: Geoff Gander Subject: Re: Flying mounts (was Re: What's your Thyatis like?) - slightly OT Flying squirrels? Now that does sound appropriate - I can just imagine the Shires' Glider Patrol watching over the northern forests, leaping from tree to tree... :-) Geoff ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 May 2006 13:56:27 -0700 From: Andrew Theisen Subject: Re: dice, card and chess games of Mystara That's right- I'd forgotten about this one. The best part about this game was that it later came into play as a "live action" version played by the PCs against Arachne-Prime, so playing it early on was just kind of a warm up for the real battle. From what I recall it was a variation of a RW game called mill, and was a recurring theme in the adventure, based in Thothia. ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 May 2006 00:38:56 -0400 From: Dan Eustace Subject: Re: dice, card and chess games of Mystara Yeah, I recall a few games to learn the strategy first, and when they got to the Night Spider they knew right away what to do. I looked at the module a bit last night - the spider mystics saying was "Game like life - Master the Game and you master the maker." One thing that happened in my game was a player who had missed the entire first part of the adventure arrived right before the battle w. the Night Spider, and his character teleported in to join the party. He positioned himself on the web based on what seemed good to him and all the others shouted "No! Not there!!" He didn't know it was based on the game and neither did his PC. It threw off their strategy some and a couple PCs fell victim to the Spider's lightning. I also found this website that has all kinds of pub games & table games with versions that could be played in Mystara. Plus some of them look really cool for RW play! http://www.mastersgames.com Dan > Andrew Theisen > > That's right- I'd forgotten about this one.
