He doesn't know about his mother, but he was raised by one of the teachers of the School -- who probably knows where he came of. Even if he doesn't know, then Angus was allowed to enter the school because he is the adopted son of this teacher (who might be named McClintock himself?) >> OTOH, goblinoids who can boast some connections (to one of the >> Broken >Lands rulers, e.g.) can and do mix with the Glantrian >> society (think of the goblin >"princes" in the >> Nightwail/Nightrage/Nightstorm trilogy). > > I'd forgotten about that, but that's a good point. No, it's definitely in order to appease the goblins -- the first module of the trilogy makes it quite clear -- these goblin "princes" are tolerated because they are (mistakenly) supposed to be hostages that guarantee that Yazar keeps to her word. It's Classic D&D group is notable for discussions about the rules variations between the old white box edition vs. BECMI (the five boxed sets) vs. the RC, as well as people sharing adventure ideas and other tidbits. It's also notable in that Frank Mentzer pops by occasionally. One neat thing about DF is that it has an e-publishing arm, and people have submitted modules and other gaming products in the past for publication. A couple of OD&D modules (complete with artwork) have been produced in this manner. You can check these out at http://www.dragonsfoot.org/cd/ (this is the Classic D&D resources page).
