It could possibly apply to your version as well, though not knowing anything about Diomin I don't know whether that part would fit or not. Basically, the MA idea was that King James II (the son of Queen Catherine I, the Lioness) would favor the traditionalist side (the M-Japanese nomads) against the settled people, leading them to join forces with the Wyndham rebels (Robin Hood-like forest dwellers). Maybe IYC the Bellaynese church could side with the rebels, maybe because the nomads have different religious beliefs. As with the war between Monarchy and Church, paralells could easily be found with the British Civil War and even Oliver Cromwell. Perhaps King James wants to pull a Henry III and make himself head of the Church. This could set off the war, and who knows where things would lead? The settled culture is english-like in both versions, except that in the SCCB variant the british culture is a legacy of the Bellayne humans, and the original culture of the rakasta is the nomadic M-Japanese one. So one could see the human-influenced church siding against a King that favors the nomads. Subject: Re: A couple of questions I got to thinking about this and, if we can give the Hollow World an official proper name, then I would have to cast my vote for "Zorandar", the name of Aaron Allston's Lost World from his superb "Lands of Mystery" supplement for the old Justice Inc. game. Incidentally, Lands of Mystery was a vastly more successful attempt at presenting a Lost World setting and is recommended to anyone gaming in the Hollow World. My other suggestion would be "Atvatabar", from what I believe is the first book featuring a hollow world setting, "The Goddess of Atvatabar Being the History of the Discovery of the Interior World and Conquest of Atvatabar" (whew!)
