As far as BW requirements, I'm not sure because I haven't compiled the first finished product... each chapter is currently sitting in a seperate DOC file. I don't think the BW should be too excessive, but I am worried about the potential for bottle-necking for a month or so, when it first comes out, as we are all apt to see "new Mystara stuff! Download! NOW! NOW! NOW!!" But, like you said, we could test it.. and if it doesn't work, look for another solution. If size/BW does become an issue, I suppose I could have the sight in one place, and host the files to be DL'd in other locations. I know hot-linking violates netiquette, but it has the advantage of spreading usage around by sharing resources. Anyway, I'll keep in touch, and let you know what my needs are, as soon as I am able to give you some numbers. // SIGNED // Roger LV Girtman, II rogergirtman2@hotmail.com http://www.geocities.com/gawain_viii/ > From: Angelo Bertolli To: rogergirtman2@hotmail.com Subject: Re: [MYSTARA] What to do with mystara.us Date: Thu, 01 Feb 2007 23:05:55 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: from alnrmhc14.comcast.net ([204.127.225.94]) by bay0-mc10-f12.bay0.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.2444); Thu, 1 Feb 2007 20:05:58 -0800 Received: from [192.168.0.100] (c-76-21-253-131.hsd1.md.comcast.net[76.21.253.131]) by comcast.net (alnrmhc14) with ESMTP id <20070202040557b1400iq9kke>; Fri, 2 Feb 2007 04:05:58 +0000 X-Message-Info: LsUYwwHHNt3660MmjhEvYg2f34OAemlK3oXsmRrh6gU= User-Agent: Thunderbird 1.5.0.9 (Windows/20061207) References: X-Enigmail-Version: 0.94.1.0 Return-Path: angelo@freeshell.org X-OriginalArrivalTime: 02 Feb 2007 04:05:58.0857 (UTC) FILETIME=[71DEDB90:01C7467F] > > Wow, if it's really too big for Pandius I'm not sure I can handle it either. The only way I know is to test it, and use various solutions if necessary. I'm not sure if you're ok with that. Various solutions mean things like moving the large files to other sites (I have a friend who is paying for some hosting and said he'd host files for me) or using bittorrent (if the files are popular enough to have multiple people downloading them at the same time). > > I'm game for testing to see if you think your files download fast enough from it. > > Angelo > > > Roger Girtman wrote: > Angelo, > > I'm definitely interested!
