Mostly =20 they use them in a way that doesn't require control, like the Silence trick. The animal is held in =20 a cage or similar container. The PCs act quite callously towards these =20 animals - and this often becomes a deepening aspect in the game as =20 some players in our group are active in animal rights issues. Another idea of creative magical use: Our fighter has been the target =20 of Hold Person spells many times due to the relatively low saving =20 throws of the class. He has purchased some Free Person potions, but =20 their trouble is that often he cannot consume them when they would be =20 needed. Nowadays the PCs often employ Fly spells in combat. We have ruled that =20 flying by concentration is still possible when magically held. The PC =20 is thinking about a pressure flask that would allow him to consume the =20 potion when flying and held: the flask is in his backpack, and =20 pressing it against the ground etc. would push the potion to his mouth =20 via a small tube. Of course this contraption would be pretty fragile, =20 but if devising it makes the player happy, who am I to stand in the =20 way? :) Ville ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ End of MYSTARA-L Digest - 17 Mar 2007 to 18 Mar 2007 (#2007-28) ***************************************************************
