I'll see what I can do about these 2 previous almanach issues. I mean, i am willing to set a blog for each almanach issue. I have no problem with that, and in fact it can be made in no more than a day (one blog for issues 1014 to 1018 , plus one for the upcoming 1020... But then, i really need to be able to divide the "copy/paste" work with other members. I just cannot do that on my own. To give you a general idea, i believe that for a complete month of entries (average of 120 entries), it will take about 4 hours (at most) for only one person to edit all the posts for this month correctly... I'd say that publishing a previously pasted entry in Ultra-edit (to get rid of the Word parasite code) and then pasting it correctly in wordpress takes about 1 or 2 minutes. Plus there is a big catch. Since the posts are only realeased on a daily basis on the RSS feed, we just need a lot of contributors for the first weeks for each year (Nuwmont and Vatermont). For the rest of the year, any contributor can just take 5 minutes to proactively edit 5 entries a day...and that would be enough to remain ahead of the real time chronology..(i am not sure i am making much sense here...) Allow me to clarify: Today in the real world is january the 28th 2007. On the www.mystara.fr/almanach/ blog it is automatically converted to Nuwmont the 28th AC 1019 (that is the last day of the month). So let's imagine that you want to help, and that you want to take care of some days for the Mystara month of Thaumont (March) or Flaurmont (April). As for many blogs, the post are visible only when their post date (called timestamp in wordpress) is at least present or past. Let me give you an exemple: If i edit and set some posts dated February the 2nd (<=> Vatermont the 2nd), they won't be visible until February the 2nd at 00h00 am. That is why it is important for me to know soon if i can count on you guys. The year is still young, and if we invest our time now, it will require less work for everyone since the work load will be spread upon the whole duration of the real world year (yet nothing prevent us from doing the whole year in a month or two). It is at the same time a blessing for us (because it allows us to spread the amount of work all year long) and a bummer because days entries only appears one day at a time and many mystara fan can find this to be two slow a pace for them. Of course, i'll put a link with the whole almanach to download for the impatients...but in a way this removes all the fun of receiving only tidbits of informations every day. This also raise the problem of curious players which could then be made aware of the "canon" future their DM has based his campaign upon... I promise you, with the help of 8 contributors giving each only 15 to 30 minutes of their time each month, we'll do great things together... So Who's in? I am also studying different types of wiki programs (Bitweaver is so far the one i am inclined to use) to generate a general data base for Mystara other related files (other than the Mystara events that is). Such an organisation of the data can only improve the accessibilty and also reduce the amount of work every person has to make (I think about Master Shawn of Pandius...). I'll have more information very soon, and than only we can discuss the way to organize the wiki (which categrories? which oragnisation among the categories.., and so on..) Any feedback or previous experience is welcome. Thib > > As I say on the website the main idea behind this > project is to syndicate the content of the Mystara > Almanach AC 1019. Nice idea -- it might be a way to read the (massive) almanac in smaller chunks. Now, if only I could manage to read through the previous two almanacs...
