Not necessarily. Most likely, their baronial title was a temporary one, but was never upgraded to Count since Narvaez basically lost contact with Thyatis. I mean, if the thyatian system don't hav= e a place for barons, the SC baronies should never exist in the first place, right? Or if barons are always part of a duchy or grand duchy (such as Karameikos), does this mean that Narvaez was originally part of a duchy or grand duchy? ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 6 Apr 2008 22:42:00 +0200 From: Giampaolo Agosta Subject: Re: Thyatian dominion 'Rank' On 06/04/2008, =C1tila Pires dos Santos wrote: > > But still, it came from somewhere. It is possible that it was part of a Duchy in Ylaruam, or of Terentias. However, it is also possible, as in canon, that Baron and similar titles (Thane, Qadi) also exist as lower noble ranks introduced by the Senate.
