I would like to know in some cases, why those spells were chosen (I'm not criticizing, only curious as to the reasons). Sphere of Energy: wouldn't expeditious retreat and haste be more appropriate to sphere of time? wouldn't word of chaos be more appropriate to sphere of entropy? Sphere of Entropy: see above. IMHO focuses heavily on necromancy. might some chaotic or destruction spells enrich the mixture? Sphere of Matter: wouldn't protection from elements be more appropriate to sphere of energy? Sphere of Thought: seems a bit haphazard to me. a lot of divination and i absolutely don't get control winds and astral projection? Sphere of Time: see above. wouldn't time stop be the one spell that needs to be on that list? perhaps you or anyone who participated in that compilation could give some insight. Thanks Knud ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 Feb 2008 14:37:21 -0500 From: Joe Mason Subject: Re: Domain Spells On 2/13/08, Knud Gentz wrote: > > > >Look at the link below. You could see Haste and Expeditious Retreat as allowing a person to move more energetically and quickly. As direct action spells, they're more appropriate to Energy than Time, which is concerned more with the flow of time (I'd see divination spells as being more important). For Word of Chaos, remember that Energy also favours the Chaotic alignment - you don't want Entropy to have a monopoly. > Sphere of Matter: wouldn't protection from elements be more > appropriate to sphere of energy? Doesn't "Elements" in this case refer more to nature, which is a Sphere of Matter thing if it's anything, than to the Four Elements. > Sphere of Thought: seems a bit haphazard to me. a lot of divination > and i absolutely don't get control winds and astral projection? Thought's associated with the element of Air, which explains Control Winds. I'd see divination as more of a Sphere of Time thing, personally, but I see the logic here too. > Sphere of Time: see above. wouldn't time stop be the one spell that > needs to be on that list? Wouldn't that be too powerful for a bonus spell?
