Hi folks, I've been having intermittent problems with the new Piazza website for the past few days (at this url: http://www.thepiazza.org.uk/bb/index.php). The site is viewable for a short while, but then comes crashing down and I can no longer access it. Is this something that others are experiencing, or is it unique to me? Please help! I'm just starting to get involved in the community again and was very excited to see the Piazza site go up, but it is very frustrating to not be able to use it. Thanks in advance to anyone out there who can help! ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Jul 2008 16:06:46 -0300 From: "Vinicius Rodrigues de Moraes (USP Solar Team)" Subject: Re: The Piazza still down??? Actually, I can't remember any failure -- the one signalled by Atila was just the change in domain name. Anyway, do you have any additional detail on the failure you experience (error messages and the like?) Thanks Giampaolo, First off my intention wasn't to restart an old debate. I like the Piazza, and I genuinly want to be able to use it. Secondly I probably should have been more descriptive in the error I am seeing. Right now I'm getting a "Cannot Find Server" error. When I try to goto the URL it takes several seconds (to minutes) to try and resolve the address and then it comes back with a big fat blank screen with the above error. Based on the other responses I'm seeing (thanks for the quick replies folks :D ), I am starting to think it has something to do with my user account. This problem has happened to me twice now, both times immediatly followed after I accidentially hit the "Save" button instead of the "Submit" button when trying to post or edit a message. Immediatly after hitting the button I lost access to the forums. Immediatly. The first time I thought it was a coincedence.... but now I'm not so sure. Anyway I'm at a loss as to what to do. Does anyone have any ideas? Make sure you're going to the right URL: http://www.thepiazza.org.uk/bb/index.php Copy and paste that into your browser or click on it if you're using webmail and it shows up as a link. I just tried to "Save" instead of "Submit" and it worked fine for me. What browser are you using? Thanks John, Yup, that's the url I'm using. I've tried both IE and Firefox with essentially the same results. It doesn't seem related to the account itself. The error message itself usually represents a slow connection, but can also be due to other reasons hat the browser cannot correctly identify (e.g., a firewall or antivirus blocking certain types of accesses). Can you try accessing your account from a different computer? That would help in deciding whether the account itself has some responsibility in the failure.
