We're still using 2nd edition rules I was wondering how they could manage their new role as rulers and I thought about Birthright campaign setting. I bought Birthright's rulebook and I quickly read it. Did any of you already tried to use those rules or some of them in a Mystara campaign? It was a succesful experience? Surfing the Vault I only found some notes of mr Aleksei Andrievski but they're very old and I can't understand how was the output. Also, guilds are treated more like businesses than actual guilds in those rules, but they work reasonably well in terms of giving a PC or NPC control over business and its income, which is what you would care about. Online at the WotC site is a free pdf for the Birthright Regency book, recommend you download that as it updates some rulership stuff. Sources don't really translate well, but some places, like Alfheim, they could be adapted. Realm magic would have to be imported wholesale, but if you didn't want that you could make source building manifest as "magic points" that are described in the Alfheim gazeteer GAZ5. Rulership and temples could be done more or less as is from the rules.
