Well it all raises some interesting possibilites for characters to investigate:- If the Brotherhood keeps doing what it always did but without central direction, it raises the possibility of schisms within the Church. Considering other Immortals and mortals-in-the-know are more likely to investigate Rad's affairs once he is no longer on the scene, one (or more) of them might try to take control of the Church for their own ends (and access to all the researches of the Brotherhood) - Rafiel and Syn (or even Mealiden IMC) seem to be likely candidates for all of this, along with the d'Ambrevilles. And of course, Rad may or may not have had a spell generation device (or if he did, perhaps he invested those powers into the Nucleus of the Spheres or something powered by it) but he might well have had a Construct-type minion/device capable of running the Church in his absence. Personally I'd be tempted to run something involving Rad's demented answer-phone beginning to break under the strain, sowing confusion in the Church, while Rafiel, Syn and Mealiden have agents poking their noses into whats going on - all I'd need to do would then have a party in the right place and somewhen around 1011/2.
