(DoD vs. GAZ2 vs. etc.) I think that Giampaolo's idea is very good, having a "lawful" faction of Ni= thians worshippers of elder gods, obviously looked upon with disdain by the= Al-Kalim worshipping Ylari. Remember that, with the exception of the Kin faction, the Ylari are general= ly tolerant of other faiths, so I would use a slight variation: I'd put the= Ylari as strongly opposed to the "old gods" worshipped by Nithians, Follow= ers of Flame and Mad Dervishes, not to other gods/Immortals of people from = other cultures. The Ylari could see the "old gods" inherently evil, no matt= er what, and putting in the same "axis of evil" factions that are actually = not sharing the same ethos at all. Iulius Sergius Scaevola Saxa Rubra (Redstone), Empire of Thyatis "Yes I'm not at Lucinius anymore..." So beyond the dervish, there's these two factions... I'm trying to think ho= w to fit them in.=A0=20 One thing I was thinking, is that whatever happened in the past (Thanatos, = corruption, revenge of Immortals) created the desert, so naturally there wo= uld be a disdain for worshipping the old gods, regardless of good or bad im= mortals. =0A=0A=0A ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Jul 2009 22:08:31 -0700 From: Joaquin Menchaca Subject: Re: Prince of Persia I was just thinking in general, that PoP is good inspiration for locations like Hulean. The one hero against an evil corrupt nation. So I was thinking about Desert Nomads. In Hule, there are both good, bad, and evil, all brokering for power and influence. It is just that the monarch is evil and the state religion is evil, and so all the legions, minions, policing force will support an evil cause. But there could be home grown rebel heroes, with indirect tactic support from the people. So, PoP in some ways, indirectly, is great inspiration for Hule type of campaign, and the backdrops, gorgeous scenery, buildings, windmills, etc. would be great ideas for Hule setting. I was thinking to screen shot somethings, and use them as visual aids for such a campaign. ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Jul 2009 22:14:18 -0700 From: Joaquin Menchaca Subject: Re: Assassins Creed II graphics vs. Darokin I am not sure of other technology, as I have yet to own the game. I would probably take a big break from WoW, and jump onto these games. I definitely screen shot the costumes, armor, weapons, etc. to show similarity. I haven't seen troops use firearms, but I did see the assassin use them. So I am wondering that maybe he, if in a Mystaran setting, could have acquired a custom gnome device with technology from a Red Steel like campaign. I also wanted to place my own Wild West type of fantasy campaign (ideas from Deadlands d20 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadlands)) on the plateau NW of Galantri, so technology could be gotten from that region as well. ------------------------------ End of MYSTARA-L Digest - 27 Jul 2009 to 30 Jul 2009 (#2009-35) ***************************************************************
