Wi= thout going into detail, I just found it frustrating. I've always been a= proponent that WotI could have been done better without the plot-holes an= d still resulted with the rise of Karameikos.=20 Anyway, I wish the Almanac Teams good luck. I don't really have any ill fe= elings towards the Teams. I am unsure what the status of the Almanac and= the Alpher Teams. If anyone wants my plot outlines they only need to ask.= But for now, I'll stick to being a lurker at the Piazza and maybe chiming= in when appropriate.=20 =20 -----Original Message----- From: Gman To: MYSTARA-L@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM Sent: Mon, Jun 7, 2010 11:48 pm Subject: Re: [MYSTARA] Alternatives to sinking Alphatia I assure you sir, you can reinvigorate the wonderful world of Mystara just by starting again with it in your mind that you'll not see Alphatia & Thyatis "washed up" and ruined, :). I fully intend to pursue that as I teach my children to roleplay. I will= be using some of the ideas from this very conversation as well as those from the Piazza, and of course from the epically awesome vault! > ******************************************************************** > > The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp > > The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com > > To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM > > with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. > > > > > ******************************************************************** > The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp > The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com > To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM > with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. > --=20 Gman ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. =20 ******************************************************************** The Other Worlds Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/OtherWorlds.asp The Mystara Homepage: http://www.pandius.com To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@ORACLE.WIZARDS.COM with UNSUB MYSTARA-L in the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Jun 2010 22:50:11 -0700 From: Russel Holmes Subject: It always struck me the same way.... there was a lot with the aftermath of WOTI that never sat right with me... Ultimately, when I ran WOTI, I did what I felt any good DM would do... changed it. The destruction of Sundsvall with the Empress and her whole retinue left a nasty power vacuum. The remaining Alphatian Nobles, instead of submitting to Zandor, immediately began a power struggle for dominance, ending the siege of the Thyatian Capital and plunging the Alphatian mainland into what would be a 10-year civil war. I had the Thyatians begin a massive reconsolidation campaign with the ultimate goal of re-taking the fledgling "Kingdom" of Karameikos. As for Darokin, The players had a pretty miserable time of that siege and the Forces of Hule ended up taking it. Thar also ended up gaining Corunglain from that front, and ended up in a direct clash with the Master of Hule while both were watching Aengmoor. Too bad I never got to pursue that end... damn PCS. -------- Drives me nuts that all the landmass, all those people and everything else gets sunk to the bottom of the sea and also transported into Hollow World. I'm contemplating, in this next run of Mystara I'm starting up, not ever letting Alphatia go away....or alternatively, maybe, disappearing it's people, leaving the land. Anyone else ever do this? How'd it go? If not, then what do ya'll think of the idea? It was ok, but not the most enjoyable campaign i have run. If i ever get a chance to run a Mystara WOTI campaign again, yeah i am certain i would take your tac and change it up a fair bit. The whole Alfheim/Aengmoor deal really didnt sit well with me, as well as the sinking of Alphatia On Wed, Jun 9, 2010 at 1:50 PM, Russel Holmes wrote: > It always struck me the same way.... there was a lot with the aftermath of > WOTI that never sat right with me...
