Well I always come here, though I rarely post... It sometimes goes through periods like this, as far back as I can remember.... back up to when we had 3 dragonlance boards on the old tsr site...

I wouldn't say these boards are dead. Many of the same people frequent here that also frequent http://www.dragonlanceforums.com. Some people even crosspost to both places, which I don't always understand, given the readership.

Cheers,
Cam

I don't post unless someone piques my interest with their post, but I check it.

I have just become a member over at the dragonlance.com boards, so I monitor both here and there now.

Honestly, I have noticed a big slowdown not just here, but at some other message boards I frequent (totally unrelated to anything D&D.) I just figured, with it being early August, most people are in vacation mode. I am pretty sure, come September, the crowds will come back inside.

I post rarely, but I'm almost always here at some point during a standard weekday -- except for today obviously :P.

With the DL Forums boards, as well as the fact that discussion isn't restricted there (no novel talk here), this site has become, in a word, redundant.

This board generally has a slower rate of posting than dl forums, but it's still very much alive.

I rarely post on this message board as well, but I also go to the Dragonlance Forums on a daily basis.

AlioTheFool's right, everyone. It's already August and everyone's still on vacation. When September comes, the WotC message boards, including this one, will be alive and kicking once again.

I check these boards from noe and then, but since nowone here plays on Taladas, I see very few things where I can give/receive in-detail advise... ;)

Normally we see a surge of posts around the time that a product is released. I guess that the whole fiasco with Spectre of Sorrows (worth the wait, BTW), a lof of people must have felt they put in their time. That, or Cam did such an amazing job that nothing needs clarification or fixing. I am pretty sure the latter is the case.

I've always believed that people in this forum is a bit older than those in other forums, and are kept busy in other stuff, that's why it takes time for posting. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I DO play Taladas ¬¬ but, I agree, very few people post about Taladas

There's quite lively discussion of SoS over on the other forum, by the way.

Who is Taladas?

Just kidding, please don't throw things.

Is there any significant source material for the continent though? I cannot recall seeing anything.

There's a boxed ser called Time of the Dragon, which explores the whole continent, and a supplement on minotaurs called Taladas: the Minotaurs. And that's it.

James O'Rance had web page with player's option rules and an Iconochronnus like timeline with the events during thw war of Chaos. But i think it's no longer online.

I have some NPCs udpadate, i'll try to post them in Nexus by this weekend.

Like Dougan Redhammer would often say..."Wanna bet?" ;)

Enjoy!

For Taladas?

Would really be nice to see. I presently only work with Mr O'Rances books. Never had the chance to get the official material...

That's right!

The Thenolian Lords, Bishop Trandamare and a few minotaurs from the league.

The lords are sort of "home made" since there'a very few writen on them, what i can tell is that they're all blood related and compete among them for land, and not all of them support the bishop.

Very nice. The dlforums may gain a new member, for I will come and check your submissions. Do you actually play on Taladas or did you do them just for exercise?

Sorry, hadn't checked your earlier thread. What's the story of your campaign?

I've run two Tlaldian campaigns:

1. It all began at Minotar Islands where the adverurers were supose to find a dagger and a crown. In time they discover their employer was a teenage girl from a noble family who sought revange on a minotaur general who murdered her father. This girl was a child prodigy and cleric of hidukkel, in a vision she foresaw a land where his god ruled and she was going to be his prophet, of course this was a lie. Bishop Trandamere was the cause of this girl power and vision and planned to fool a group of adventurers into giving him the dagger and the crown to complete an artifact of Hiteh's church.

They crossed the ocen and were captured by the armach near the Taladian coast. During the trip they learned of the girl's ambition and early signs of madness. When they negotiated their freedom from the armachnesti, as soon as they could the dispatched the girl's bodygruards and fought her. To thier surprise the girl had no fighting skills and and cried upon the first blow (what a bunch of bullies! fighting a 13 years old girl ¬¬)

The girl died and couldn´t bear the guilt, and a cult of wandering priestesses resurrected her. This happened in Prince Raimos' land. He fall the girl and the party agree to follow him. The prince was leading a rebelion against the bishop. In short they found out the prince would be a worst menace than the bishop himself. Thanks to the party he managed to kill Count Malarchus. After this battle they faced the prince who was far too powerful for the party, two pc's died. The girl ran away and beceme Tradamere's pupil.

2. The story continued two years later in Kristophan (with 2 new characters). The party went into hidind after things got ugly. In the lands of the League they joined the army and some became gladiators. They met a group of humans who suported a descendat of Kristophus and joined them. during the games the leader's son challenged the emperor and defeated him.
Most of the became generals or senators. One of them was the first senator representing the Marak! (kenders) After that evertthing was role play and political intrigue. It ended when the emperor was murdered after being corrupted by the Emperor's axe.

Very interesting. Seems like I really got to register over at the DL boards.

My own Taladas campaign is going for about 18 months now, with a group of chaotic dark knights (The 15 year old boys from my youthgroup) trying to conquer several parts of Taladas for the Black Queen. Now, they've taken over a bandit lair in Armach and look to expand their territory... God knows where that will end...

An Evil Party, cool!!! I like evil parties because u can do things u seldom do as a "heroe" and as DM u can finlly use good creatures like metallic dragons.

I prefer older players (30 and 40 something!), specially newbies. It's a whole different experience, they avoid fighting and make use of a lot, and i mean A LOT of charisma based skills, bluff, diplomacy, intimidate, they even prefer feats to boost these skills. And when fighting, they set ambushes!

BTW Will they fight Chaos minions there?

Ah, those, of course, are not my regular players, but some kids I look for since they're about 8 or 9 years old.

I doubt that they will face Chaos' minions, BECAUSE THEY WILL DESTROY THE ENTIRE PLANET IF THEY CONTINUE AS THEY DO. It's not very canonical at the moment, more fantastic comedy...

Seriously, after the adventure in the Bandit lair comes a visit to the Steamwall
Mountains (again... ) and then maybe a visit to the wastelands of old Aurim...

Could someone please inform me, I am very confused.......We aren't allowed to discuss the DL Novels here? I am pretty sure most everything post (all 6 ) have been book related, is that wrong?

Awhile back, they made a definate effort to stamp out novel discussion (due to some issues on other boards on the site, apparently). They may have backed off that a bit, but I haven't seen anything outright.

I've always maintained that, due to the nature of the DL world, you cannot try and separate the two. That, and the fact that, you know, WotC is the one publishing the novels.
