I had an idea today. If Mishakal has the blue crystal staff, wouldn't it stand to reason that the other deites would have artifacts? Well me in my infinite boredom has set off to make these artifacts. They are all at least slightly modeled after the blue crystal staff, With paladine, Gilean, and Taky's being more powerful.

The Sheild of Paladine

The Sheild of Paladine is a large sheild made entirely of platinum, with an intricate inlay of gold and silver depicting a large dragon on the front. Even after Paladine becomes mortal, this extremely powerful artifact's magic is still extremely potent. The Sheild now rests at the final resting place of Huma, and is gaurded by several good dragons, who will only grant the sheild to someone pure of heart when the world is in great need.

Description: The Sheild of Paladine holds 30 charges when fully charged, but it automatically regains one charge per day.

The following powers don't drain any charges.
  • Resistance
  • Cure Minor Wounds

The following powers drain 2 charges:
  • Bless
  • Protection from Evil
  • True Strike

The following powers drain 6 charges:
  • Searing Light
  • Protection from Energy
  • Magic Circle Against Evil
  • Daylight

The Following powers drain 8 charges:
  • holy smite
  • Divine Power

The following power drains 10 charges
  • flame strike

The following powers drain 14 charges
  • sunbeam
  • Holy Word

In addition, the Shield of Paladine acts as a +4 large shield in combat. Once per month, the shield (not the wielder) may choose to ressurect (as the true ressurection spell) one good creature (DM's Choice) that the wielder witnessed the death of.

Only Good characters may weild the sheild. Any non good, non-evil character that picks up the sheild take 2d6 of holy (good) damage per round. Any evil character that holds the sheild takes 4d6 points of Holy (good) damage per round.

Strong conjuration, Strong Evocation. Caster Level 20th

If anyone is interested, i will try to post one artifact per day. Suggestions and critique welcome.

Well if you read the first book of the Dark Disciples trilogy it actually talks about artifacts from the gods, although it doesn't mention any by name. Just goes into saying that the Kingpriest robbed all kinds of god given artifacts from clerics and collected them in the Tower of Istar, some of them must be pretty powerful as Chemosh himself came looking for it.

And there is also some mention of Nuitaries artifact called the God's Eye which let's you scry a location on any plane of existance(including where the gods are) and even cast spells from the Illusion school of magic through it. The downside being that you need fresh dragon blood to fuel it, and as the book mentions it this might be a bit difficult.

It has to be blood willingly given by a dragon in order to spy on the gods. Mundane blood will still allow it to function but only on the planes of mortals IIRC. I think the artifacts were kept in the Hall of Heretics or the Hall of Blasphemy or somthing along that theme. What is really interesting is that artifacts of all gods except Paladine ended up in there, including Mishakal, Gilean, and Branchala. Again I don't have the reference to it front of me (it's currently in a box label DnD books in Louisville awaiting unpacking) but I don't think I'm off.

You got most of it, though it doesn't say it has to be blood from a willing dragon, it's just that a blood from a willing dragon is more likely to be fresh and therefore more potent. And the room with all the godly artifacts is called the Hall of Sacrilige.

Kiri-Jolith was also one of the gods who had at least one of their artifacts/relics placed in the Tower of High Sorcery in Istar by the KingPriest.

As a matter of fact, the King Priest was in the process of getting rid of any forms of idols/alters/etc that weren't considered the "true likeness of the Gods", so Paladine just might have one or two (possibly more) items in there too.

I think it was stated that the only god whose artifacts were not there were Paladine's. (That is what I recall reading, but I could be wrong.)

All of the gods, save Paladine, had their artifacts taken to the Tower of Istar. I hope that the Holy Orders of the Stars book will detail them a bit more.

I guess you can say that in religions around the world (real world) gods have artifacts. I consider the cross and the prayer wheel one. The symbol of Om maybe...Can anyone think of others?
