I remember reading an adventure, where the pc's was subjects to a shadow curse which drained their prime scores (fighter = str, mage = int etc) for every hour they were at the place where the curse was active.

I also rembember something about, that the shadows in the curse was to be seen when the light from a lantern cast light on a floor. Here the shadows moved and startled the pc's. The shadows did not attack only drained.

Can you help me out here?

It was a 2nd ed ad&d adventure

Was it the Forgotten Realms module The Dungeon of Death?  The blurb reads:

Cryptic rumors spread across the far North, sparking new interest in a shadow-haunted ruin. Oh yes True Atlantean!! it was exactly that module, now i remember it all, a friend of mine had it. Perfect, i'll rush over to him first thing tomorrow or maybe even tonight. Got to read it again! it was awesome.

And fun there will be, at least for me as the DM, the players are really in for a tough one here. Remember when i was a player in that adventure myself, oh the horror it was :devil:
