I can understand the Villichi being a race but I find that a couple things are missing.

In the second book of the Tribe of One series we are given a small look into a couple things that are not listed in ToA.

Skills and Weapon Proficiencies. As the good folks at Athas.org have seen fit to add racial skills to the ThriKreen, and Giants of Athas, I find it exceedingly odd that skills were not allocated to the Villichi. As well in the intro to The Seeker we are gioven a list of weapons the Villichi are familiar with, now considering that the vast majority of Villichi are found and trained by the convent, at least to some degree, and that even if they did depart and form a smaller commune, they would have the Villichi weapon Proficiencies.

What do you think, should they have racial skills, and racial proficiencies?

Thoughts, arguments, and observations welcome.

All of these TOA feedback ideas can be posted in a single thread, in fact I am quite certain that there was one before you even started making threads. Please do not spam the boards with redundant threads.

Actually yes there is a thread about Athasian giants and a descrepency regarding their attack bonuses, as this is neither about Athasian Giants nor about the proficiency in rock throwing attributed to them I chose to make a thread. As I am new to the boards I did not note that the people herein are so very particular about tread filing. But since I did not find by searching anything about Villichi or about the way in which they were written I saw it as non redundant

Also, if I had posted in the Giants thread, there is no guarantee that it would be paid any attention to, I merely used the [ToA Feedback] as I had seen it before and it seemed to be the acceptable format.

A bit miffed at the over reaction,
Alexis

Unfortunately most of what comes out of that trilogy isn't accepted as cannon, so hence why I didn't use any of that for the villichi writeup.

I do want to change a thing or two about them, and one of those is a racial weapon, since they were good at one or two weapons in the old 2e writeup. I'm going to have to double check on it though and get it posted to the monster bureau for evaluating.

I had wondered about wether or not The Tribe of One books were in cannon, it seemed to me that even having only read book1 of the Prism Pentad I had already caught a huge amount of discrepency. Thanks for the info Nyt and I look forward to catching your Elfling write up as well as seeing what you do with the Villichi and the Pyreen.

Sorry Sage for the abrasive reply, but its a matter of wanting a question answered and not finding that filing it under a barely related topic as acceptable.

Now if an admin were to make a thread and combine all the ToA feedback threads into a thread like [ToA Feedback]:All ToA Queries Here, then I would post there.

My 2 ceramics on the matters.

I suggest you do that if you have any more ToA inquiries. You might want to start searching through the older pages since I know one exists already.

It just helps with traffic of the threads and redundancy.

The main errata thread for the current version of Terrors of Athas is here. There are also a couple of others, such as this one and this one here but they are a bit older.

Welcome to the boards, darkenstarr, and thanks for the feedback - it's much appreciated. With the search function terminally out of order, it can be hard to find the appropraite threads - no harm, no foul Your feedback has been noted and is being considered. Things are a little slow in the Monster Bureau at the moment, though (Nyt only just recently got properly back online and I am in the middle of a nice, restful vacation), but rest assured that we'll be crunching through your input along with the other few pages of suggestions that we have collected once the weather turns fouler ;)

The thing that's so great about the Sorak novels, is that the main character - well...let's just say he doesn't have the most stable of minds. So it's not a stretch to say that the way he percieves things might be a bit off. Meaning - we can take what few good ideas came from those books and apply them to what we know, while leaving the rest in the f'd up mind of our resident elfling.
