Aug 21, 2005 20:00:40 How critical is the DLCS? Can you play Dragonlance in 3.5 without it? relying on older material? Im just getting back into Dragonlance and was curious on how much the book was needed.

Aug 21, 2005 23:57:27 Well it's possible to run a game without it. You wouldn't have updated stats on Draconians, or Kender, Krynnish Minotaur, Gully Dwarves, tinker Gnomes, Kagonesti, Silvanesti... You'd be missing which gods have which domains, you wouldn't have the knighhood PrCs, or the WoHS PrC.

Of course you can use Halflings for Kender, use general elf stats for each nation... and hope Tinker Gnomes never come up. You can use the Knights of Solamnia as honorific rather than mechanical benifits... same with the WoHS... so no you don't need it... but it has a lot of good information.

Still before the 3.5 edition when it looked like there would never be an updated DLCS, the good folks at the Dragonlance Nexus tried to update the setting. You can look over there for varients of 3rd edition WoHS or Knighthood classes.

Because I've heard it's extremely difficult to find? and I may not have the resources to buy said book?

I found a great copy on Half.com for $7 plus like $3.25 shipping. Also RPGShop.com has alot of the material. I have heard that the Age of Mortals and DLCS are going to be re-released sometime soon also with the DL DM screen. These three items will be sold together as like a Dragonlance starter kit. I do not know when or how much the items will cost thought- Does anyone else know?
